naw I could dig that as well...for sure..but eventually as sport grows even those teams will want/need more roster spots..could prob make 5 10 man teams in this area alone..and cows outnumber the people

Major repeating issue is having to drive to far. This is my suggest to keep league inclusive and allow for less travel time.

the TC is a [bleep] show this year

the bracket based finals is total BS

the bottom four teams play for nothing the last half a year

16 man rosters are a joke--this is the main reason for the BS bracket....so everyone can play finals--BS

there may be a 3-way tie that will be broken with a coin toss???? total BS

every year the format changes!

just make it top 6 get to finals, easy solve

if we take out CL then I will give a HUGE finger to the coin toss idea

IF we loose then I will carry Tim Graves's bag in the finals and pull Cranbury from the event(or bottom 4 event).

complete lack of foresight

Year one for Cran;
12 man teams
Finals: top 10 singles scores/ top 3 doubles scores

Year Two:
14 man teams
Finals: top 12 scores and top 6 doubles

Year Three:
14 man roster+ a lady
Finals: Top 12 scores and top six doubles
We played at Maine's home course(kyle lived there)

Year Four:
16+4 alt= 20 man rosters
Finals- bracket BS--top 10 singles and 5 doubles teams

if the NLF or any other leagues changed rules like this it would break apart----hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

i love solbo and lapham,

Whit

PS--I vote for A pool to disband and Titan to run a new "B" pool league that isn't based on rules manipulation and making regional super teams

PSS-only real(park oriented) TC A-pool teams are Cran, NASA, and Borderland

PSSS-ONE WEEKEND A YEAR!

PSSSS-GAS WILL SOON BE $6! Who needs 6 months of driving!

PSSSSS- hahahahahahahaha!

I don't. I recognize problems, but you sideline-sitting bomb-throwers don't realize how your hindsight is causing your unwarrented negativity. Kids, understand that "lack of foresight" is the easy to claim when looking back 4 years, but at the time things weren't so obvious.

If you were to also include number of teams in the league each year in your analysis, you'd realize the INITIAL growth of participation in the league was more roster expansion, not additional teams.

Now that the last two years have had BOTH more roster expansion and more teams, you're blaming management? Please. No one foresaw 20 teams of 20 players becoming reality even two years ago.

Instead of freaking grumbling, which must be Cran's 2nd best sport after disc golf, if you're a captain, you should have made your damn case in the offseason on the captain's thread, or if you're a player, replace your captain to have smarter representation.

Complaining about "lack of foresight" is lame. YOU are the foresight, brothers.

Bunch of babies. Like douchebag investors complaining that they shold have had the foresight to hold onto their Apple shares.

Stew what if said Captian did vote to keep roster size down and have more regional divisions or to not change the finals format, but was out voted? We will not Just let it go. Y? Cause every rule change decreased are odds to win. Yes we play to win

You have ur stupid opinion we have ours. No need to attack us. Wait thats what everybody does that doesn't win TC challege championships. Do you want us to apologize about being better than u too?

Seriously? So all 19 other captains voted the way they did to keep Team Cranbury down? Brother, you're delusional.

I'm not attacking you more pointing out that you guys a) complain about the system more than anyone else and b) can't seem to wrap your arms around that fact.

Simple analysis:

1) Cran joined the league whenever you did DESPITE the fact that in your part of the world you value Ice Bowls more than the rest of NEFA. That was an overlooked conflict of interest. Not TC's problem, YOURS.

2) Cran, like Captain L, like da Farmers in ME, like WV, Like Pleasant Hill, like Burgess exist on the fringe of NEFA's geography. Some deal with it (Burgess) some don't (da Farmers). But the fact of the matter is that winter golf isn't nearly as fun as the 3 other seasons. Initially, when we only had a half-dozen teams or so, the drives were much shorter--that helps when you have to play all day in the freezing cold. Combine a 3-4 hour drive with tough winter conditions, and it's a different animal.

One or both of these two concepts have effected Cran's (and plenty of other teams) ability to show up "full strength" at challenges.

"Do I want you to apologize for being better than us?"

No, but I do want to thank you for showing up at our home challenge without 3 of your top 5 players though.

It would appear to me that you are fearful of playing in this league and not winning. da Farmers won the league and when personal schedules and distance became too much of an obstacle to compete, they disbanded. Please quote "everybody (who didn't win TC) attacking them."

You're like the 16-year-old hottie with no personality. "Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful." Um, no Darlene, it's because you're a pain in the ass.

My solution: (assuming the rules stay relatively the same next year) Swallow a little pride on the "we're all from the same course unlike the rest of you regional super-teams" rant, recruit players who can commit beyond the Ice Bowl schedule, and play again. Or follow da Farmers lead and disband. Don't be so damn afraid to compete in this league if you're not the pre-season prohibitive favorite.

Or, lobby the other captains to change the rules.

NASA has been teetering on the A pool/B pool line forever. Any victory in finals would be a pretty big upset. But you know what, we love being a team, love competing and love TC.

Don't be so scared to fail.

p.s. I'm also for a regional set-up. I like playing locally and building up rivalries. (except for CL who owes us a home match from last year ;-))

Nothing personal here. I simply seek the veritas in this discussion. I understand you are a Yankees fan, and that is a strong tie that binds in my world.

So what exactly is the format for the finale? Same as last year, stroke play singles and doubles (with doubles scores counting twice)? Or match play?

Seeded team 1 v seeded team 4
Seeded team 2 v seeded team 3

half of each team will play match play singles and half of each team will play stroke play doubles

singles wins are worth 1 point, doubles 2 points

team with most points wins

two winners then play head to head with same format for championship
two losers then play head to head with same format for third place

Yup, b/c you guys play your last challenge on the weekend before the FINALS, how else are we supposed to break the tie, this is why next year it'll be required that the last challenge be completed by March 31 so that ties can be broken in the 2 week window leading up to finals.
