Steve Dakai (Choice Pool Store in Oxford, MA) will have another 295 discs found Friday in Buffumville Lake (channel and # 16) later today. Please give him time (a few days) to "organize" them, etc.

Karl

Ps: Just a few off the top of my head (tough to remember all of 295...):

1 Cyr
1 Tom S.
3 or 4 Tellier's (who'd a thunk it... )
1 Burtt (which someone had stickered over the name - which I took off - to hide the real owner's name...duh).
7 or 8 Ryan Cazeault (don't know'em but he must play a LOT of dg)
3 or 4 Ballard's (including a CE !! )
1 Dunne
1 T. Walsh (barely readable)
1 Bear
a couple DJB's
1 Chauvin
...oh that leaves only 275 I can't recall (BIG-time amnesia)....

Steve,

Due to the logistics of lugging all the gear over the dam (and then, obviously, back again), doing the little pond at the same time I do the big pond is not practical. Also, I use up all the air on the big pond side and don't have any left (for the little). Please understand that the actual amount of "ground" (pond bottom) that I actually cover during 1 tank-full's worth is not a whole lot; so I don't even come close to covering all that I'd like to (when I'm there).

I'll try to make a trip this year to just do the little pond; maybe in a couple of weeks or so.

Thanks for another very successful dive session Karl. Since you were diving hole 16, you must have found one of my drivers.

Let us all know when they arrive at the pool store.

I will gladly pay my $2 to get my $15 disc back!

Thank you for your efforts!

Sandy,

John's correct (I did dive it - came up with ~70 (as I recall) in the little pond) but it was last fall late I think.
I again (in the next couple of weeks) plan on diving Buff; maybe I can do the little pond (since you and Steve - and maybe others) think it's worth the while.

wet discs

Post by legogod »

Awhile ago my friend and I each lost a disc in the small pond-dead smack in the center. I lost a blue ace and I'm not sure what he lost. It would be cool to get that disc back. Thanks if you do.

Justin and Sandy,

Thanks for the offer (to help) but when I dive usually depends on the weather (sunny is better for visibility reasons - but not absolutely necessary) and when I'm up in CT and have 5 or so hours (drive to, prep, lugg equipment, dive, relugg, drive back, clean discs, etc.) available...usually on the spur of the moment type thing.

And since I only have internet access at my NJ home, I'm never able to contact people this way in a timely manner (to make plans, etc.).

But I'll do what I can do....

Who said the "big" arms don't drop discs in the "little" pond at Buff!
Yesterday I pulled out ~140 sinkers out of the #1 / #14 pond at Buffumville.

Regarding who - just a smattering of names are as follows:

Whitey x2
Donny x1
Al K x 3
Cyr x1
Bear x1
Yaskis x2
K. Burtt x 2
Belanger x2 (or 3)
Jenilee x2
Erin x1
Greg A. x2
others (to add up to 139 I think)

Sorry Sandy, I don't think I came up with yours...but there's always hope! Last year, I thought I did a really good job scrounging around down there - but, in reality - there is just SO much muck down at the bottom that I literally have to DIG into the crap...and then find a disc where the initial hand plunge (into the mud) came up with nothing! Weird. It's just a slightly different technique (for disc probing) than I do in the big pond....
So next year (earlier) I'll give the little pond another going over and I guarantee I'll find discs that have been in there a LOT longer than 1/2-year.

I'm in NJ now but will be able to bring them up to the pool store this coming Friday. Steve D. will then do his thing, etc.

Karl

Ps: Steve, will you be at the store Fri? What time?

On Saturday I lost a white star eagle on hole 1 into the pond, and a orange sentinel and green champ boss (both on 27). All the discs have my name and number on them. If anyone on team buff happens to be heading to that store, please check out if any of my discs are there and I will reimburse you at the challenge on Sunday. I'd appreciate it a lot, thanks.

Also, Marvin M. lost a green champ boss and the Tavolacci brothers lost some discs too.

Jesse,

Yes, I do seem to remember one of yours in there (initially thought it was a Jason Johnson but looked at the faded name again and the 'Jesse' was there).

Steve,

OK, I'll be at the Oxford pool store early Sat (10/17) morning to deliver the new batch of discs, etc.

Not pointing a finger at anyone, but yet again another collection of discs retreived from Buffumville and none with my name on them. My friend threw two discs in the water with my name on them within the past two months. He really liked using those discs too. Glad they were not discs I use anymore but still unfortunate...

Other than those discs I have two Tsunami's still out there somewhere by the dam at buffumville and by the dam at hodges. It's really too bad because they were fairly new when they entered the water once upon a time...
