We need a chipper. That is the only way to rid the course of all the debris and the chips will help break everything in better too.
Any ideas of where we can borrow/steal one from??

When you find one, let me know, we could use one at Otter Brook, you can rent them but they are pricey and maneuvering them around OB will be next to impossible.
I'd be a lot better if those trees didn't get in the way.

had walk thru with Jeff from rfg today

went good great
he has a good understanding of what we need want
walked the entire course he loved it said he might actually play

a great idea came from the walk...he is gonna put a spot for flag on kiosk....put flag up means someone is on course to prevent any confusion with shooting

I will discussin person other details but in general the project is underway and gonna be huge improvement

sunday is not looking good for me as she works overnight tonight

on a side note

Jeff's mother does Johnny Appleseed mag publication and anytime we want an article published we have an insta in

he also took lead for RFG social media and does the FB schedule
so any time we want to post league/event/work days he can put on there

I sent him event dates and will have him add wedz/sund as DG work days

Re: RF&G

Post by Titan_Bariloni »

the good news keeps rolling in today

Bob is getting us 6 tons of gravel/stonedust mix this week from his work as a start

he will unload material via his dump trailer at an area his tractor can access
once that is done he is sending me a text for time we can meet to take tractor and 4wheeler trailer to stage closer to tees.

the overwhelming feeling at club is to 4x4/8 pressure treated and fill with material, let settle and then paver it

where we can't do those we will put raised platforms....

the course is getting drier everyday and on walk through I only observed 2-3 spots those wouldn't work...as Jeff added input I actually think we can everywhere

I can't believe how dry everything is already

I added all the input I received and that I have learned and that is what is desired

that said screw it...whatever gets tees up there I am just gonna concede and get them done

Bob also said he will look into a chipper attachment for his machine, although I did state soon those piles will be back down on my list as tees/signs will rise to the upmost top as they should be

If over the summer he gets attachment then we will chip, if not we burn again this winter but much earlier start I guess as by then our punch list will have shrunk anyways

so in near future this is what will need to be done, we will need to dig out sediment where tees are going if tee is 5x10 then 6x12 will need to be dug to subgrade,

we will then have to fill back in with gravel/stonedust mix and tamp

once they are semi level, that is where 4x4/8 5x10 frames will be placed

then as we go will be filled in with gravel and stone dust roughly 4 inches below top as to leave room for bricks in future, the top layer of material will allow for water to drain so puddling should only be small issue

we will also put material/rocks around
frames to secure in place and prevent erosion of pad

I guess its time for me to get a new spaded shovel and my pick ax out
that is what is gonna get them done

guy do you have any survey flags left? I do not, we need to walk course and measure tee areas, mark the corners with flags so when I have time I can start digging them out

there is mucho debris out there as well, maybe during walk thru we grab some debris IDK

so maybe this wedz we burn if we can, a pile close to a tee area(s) and I can dig as well
I bet burning days a far and few soon...
if we can't burn then maybe debris and measuring?

we also discussed benches and tables and have a plan but want to leave tee areas semi clear for this upcoming construction phase

Jeff is also seeing if he can get rough cut lumber smooth on one side from his friend for scouts to do tee signs

yup spring is here
now we just need bodies, I trust they show for this phase of the project

LMK and discuss

edit/for my brain to remember "rice stone"

If I am the only body working then I will continue to walk course and remove debris probably 7:30 am to noonish
I don't have any flags.
Rest sounds pretty good but I think all tees should be the same material for every hole
See you Wednesday

cool,

I doubt they allow burn anyways
every town has been BS hearing stories all around about it

I will try to get to home depot by wedz for flags

I agree all same, Jeff has technique for holes 11/12, those would be only issue IMO
and after speaking with him and looking it does seem possible to do a framed tee

great job on that last clean up on 18, I was like wow holy crap this looks sweet, I only see 2-6 trees to complete that entire fairway/airway

must admit seeing hole 18 today may have changed my mind towards it

cya wedz

Well started by picking up sticks on 18. Tweaked my back :(
Continued on to 17 cleaned up a bunch of debris then made it much sexier :P
Went on to 16 and cleaned up the OB area over the wall then said screw this and removed most of saplings and small pines and one large pine. Got sexed up. Then ran out of time and chain before finishing cleaning up debris on 16 fairway.

Nice thanks

Def think a tad longer for 16 green would be better
After walk the other day just seemed a Lil short

Also after clearing of 12 and relocation of 13 tee let's reexamine if 12 can throw down on 13

One more thought was extending 15 green to next crop and par four it

Other then that the course seemed to look great besides winter debris but that was expected

Oh crap

Bob just called we can't work Sunday tomorrow

They have first skeet shoot and will be full field
No matter where we are not allowed as they are air shooting and lead carries

Grrrrr frigging gear

Spoke with Sunni to give you heads up

I got day cleared now
Wanna play?

This is bs
I should have checked that new facebook schedule

Drrrrr gear

https://www.facebook.com/RoyalstonFishG ... e_internal

for our future REF
DG on the schedule he still has to put our workdays
it is only 8 more days of skeet throughout year
all being on holidays mem/4th/labor
labor day weekend both days as its final championships and I guess it would be ironic for us to volunteer on labor day lol

and then four wedz at 6pm but tully league is that day anyways and we are out there way before 6pm

so after sunday we are only out 1 more available sunday in year

I guess that is not bad
