More paintball damage. I know we always tout that dg can coexist with all other park activities...but paintball crosses the line once they start trashing the place (and not cleaning up after themselves).

Matt, I have a disc of yours. Blue with a utopia stamp. I think a sidewinder. Middle of the gap on 18 covered in leaves.

They also really seem to enjoy setting up their matches, which take seemingly forever when you're waiting to drive, along the pin for 6 and fairway for 7..

Yea that's where that photo was taken...6s green. Don't forget the Bridgeport Police Non Emergency Number is 203-576-7671. Can't imagine they wouldn't respond to a call about people with guns in the woods next to a school.

Earlier in the week we had a mini but productive workday which included some chainsawing to cut the big stump on 16, cut the dead trees for new long 15 tee, clean up 14s green, and a little on 12. We also finished cutting and clearing the last of the large trees down across 1s green area (this whole wooded section is looking great). Oh yeah and some selective log removal on the trail from 3 to 4. All in all the course continues to play great.

Obviously tees will be a priority for us in the spring. But until then there is plenty to do in order for Vets to be tournament ready. Specifically, getting in the long tees on 12 & 13, all short tees, & removing some undergrowth in dense areas. Very happy to report that we have finally found a logical and fun short tee for #2.

Speaking of tournaments...we are deciding when to host an Ice Bowl at Vets. Date TBD

The protection/approach around 1 is very nice looking and playing now.

Keep up the good work. I swear we'll drop by for one of the workdays before spring!

Thanks Adam. Yesterday Aubin and I had a couple hours free and we knocked out the short tees for #2 and #4. They are fun! There is no doubt in my mind that the short layout on this course will be fun for all skill levels. They will be especially great for all the new players.

I know its sort of last minute, but I was thinking February 19th or maybe Fools Fest weekend (March 3 or 4). Anyone for or against?

Few announcements...We will not be having an ice bowl this year. However, we are on the Bpt park and rec agenda for the Feb meeting. This means we will propose and hopefully gain approval for tournament date(s) and tee box construction. Whit and I are trying to have a Cranbury-Vets one-two punch tournament weekend on Oct 6-7. This would be fun! It's possible we will also have a Charity tournament in the spring/early summer.

We had a terrific meeting with our representative from the Bridgeport Park & Rec Commission yesterday. We wanted to be as prepared as possible for the Feb. 14th meeting in front of the whole commission.

Long story short, he loved our tournament ideas and we officially requested to reserve the field at Vets for a May 20th pdga/nefa Charity tournament and October 7th pdga tourny (should hear back very soon). And he had many questions about our tee box construction proposals. We outlined several options (stonedust, concrete pavers, rubber, and concrete). It is very clear that we need to crunch the numbers and get an exact tally on supplies needed, their costs, and schedule.

So...I ask...who has done tees recently and can email me their notes on costs and materials :?:

finally got a chance to play VETs, today. simply put...."incredible course." most fun i've had going through a course for the first time ever. each and every hole a true golf shot, not one quirky hole on the entire course. i'm looking forward to playing in both tournaments this summer. 8-)

great job everyone

Matt, thanks for the tour today.
