Last night brought with it Ricky Wysocki and a couple other good players. The rest of us wannabees shot ok, but not good enough to beat Wysocki/Kobel teams 44! Shooting a 44 on the Silver Front and Gold Back layout is really impressive. Think about it, at a minimum you would have to deuce 1-8, 10-11 or 15,17 and then three everything else. Not to shabby Ricky and Matt.

The Birdie pot was hit for $48 last night by three teams. Split between 6 players that equals $8 each. I've mentioned to a couple of you, but the plan is to change the Birdie pot next year to award ONE team with most birdies in a row over 6 (6 in a row would be the minimum to enter you into the pot). If there was still a tie with two teams hitting the same amount in a row, then they could either decide to split the pot or do a throw off. Another option for a tie breaker would be to defer to any eagles on a teams card. Either way, this was a good start this year for the birdie pot, but the plan is to help make it a little better and award better playing.

The unofficial record shows that $210 is in the ace pot at this point. It's starting to get big ya'll!

The top 36 players aren't moving too much, but did adjust a little. Walsh gained a few more points still keeping him within possible striking distance. Kevin Gardner could still move up to top twenty pretty easily.

We'll start at 5:15pm.

Last week we finished fine and started late, almost 5:45pm.
We did lose 12 minutes of day light from last week to this week.

SO we started league at 5:20 last night and finished in with enough light for all 32 players to complete the round.

The ace was hit last night by Nick Carl on Hole 3 Silver for $254! That was his first ace and will probably be hard to beat. Good ace Nick!

The birdie pot was started fresh lastnight at $22 and E-dub and his partner George Economos hit it. (Only E-dub put in for the birdie pot so he received $11). I was told by George himself that he has hit the birdie pot at least 3 times, but has never put in for it! He could have been rich by now!

Straight up doubles on the Silvers was played last night and a 45 took the cake. Gary Cyr and Nick Economos played well together and took first place with that 45.

Gary Cyr moves up one spot putting him in the top 5 with last nights 30 points added to his total. I don't think first place is going to change, but that's just me talking.

Here are the league results for the past two weeks and the total point standings following. I ask you this, "How many leagues can say that they have had over 150 different golfers?!"

Anyone else see this Blue Heron behind hole 4 silver basket last night? First time I've seen one of those on the property.

I live on Waite Pond in Leicester about 2.5 mi away from Pyramids and the herons are there all the time. I played the front again after league with Dena and Bill. I was throwing from the creek and when I turned around the heron was in my face. I screamed and it was still chillin. Took me a while to find my disc.

Probably have to pass this week. I'm still dealing with that cut I got on my throwing hand right before the tournament on Saturday.

PYRAMIDS LEAGUE - 5:30PM - Silver Front - Gold Back

Post by Matt Grayum »

Heads up: I won't be able to attend tonight due to a last minute business trip to PA. I do have $11 for birdie pot but will have to pay it out next week if someone wants to take care of it tonight. Just let me know details. Have a good round tonight!

I was planning to start CrossFit at the end of April, but instead, I am starting next Monday because for 3 weeks I have to go to a Monday evening class and I refuse to miss any league.
No idea when league is actually beginning this spring, but I wanted to play it safe.

And no more Monday softball this year! :D

Is it crazy to think that 1x per month, this league could be a BYOP 1-round tourney, with divisions (pro, am, mixed)? Cash to pros, MS$ to others...hmmmm 8-)

Yes. Yes it is crazy to think that. People want their points, and this year everything to do with the points system is.........

Well let's just say, you might want to be there every week to contend till the end......

Too bad there was no point incentive for LAST Year.... I guess bragging rights for 1st place is enough
