well after lugging the 32pound child up to the furthest hole to retrieve the tools left only time and 2 year old patience to dig 1 tee
hole 13 dug out...needs more fill in front of tee then back
brought tools down to hole 14
next up and I am hoping to be solo so I can dig 14/15/16 all in one session
that should put the 1st phase completion by fri/sat
now lets just keep fingers crossed materials get on site so we can complete phase 2 the leveling
as I was heading out Guy arrived to weedwhack the remaining holes
great early hike the bugs were minimal

15 is much better as is even now
tools brought to 16
this weekend I plan on getting the rest sunday early prob
that pile was lol, think it is a marking pile for the big pile
after digging and/or scouting all the holes a few items will have to be done to get whatever machine we shall use
hole 4 cut that path that leads down to tee...the old one that jets from main access
hole 9 cut behind tee area for access
hole 11 cut the path and clean that leads down to 11's fairway..the trail I always take to 12, or come fromabove but still may need trail cleaned
hole 16 cut clean behind tee area for access
hole 17 cut trail from top of 17 approach that leads to edge of 16 along wall
that is the cutting I think needs to be done before we can get down to those holes with a machine of any type
we may have to bull hole like
3 pretty sure this will be a wheelbarrow/bucket hole, but at least it's close
7 a lil bit
11 prob the last uphill spot(unless we link from 4wheeler trail along 18's stonewall where fairway crosses
15 last bit from 14'2 green to 15 tee
the rest are all 100% reachable with tractor,wheeler,car/truck
LMK what/where you gonna be so we can bring this all together
also update on tee poles? did we decide upon final plan
I have access to bark remover, James west has a nice one can grab anytime
Weedwhacking looks great
shawn is going to cut up all the small pecker poles in pile next to 15's lower green area...all burnable and will be good to have gone
he grabbed a truckload of stray hardwork from around the road area today looks good cleaned up
he is planning on walking around and lugging it out...glad to have gone!
edit..also we should prob use somematerial to fix the rocky part of access road up to 18 and maybe some spots along that back road eventually

also spoke with Bob Picard, he is tentatively in for next sunday with machine...he needs some places widened he thinks...so may have to follow him with a saw on a few runs
trying to convince tiger around corner to bring his machine
gotta get bob's tractor/4wheeler up there as well
then we just 2-3 more laborers working on that
lets just hope that frigging material gets on scene sooooooooooooooooooon

a bunch of us played the course and I received constructive criticism to improve on shortcomings of the course.
Today I widened the fairway on 3, cleared the rhbh lane on 10, and began the huge chore of thinning out 18. Slow but getting there
Back out tomorrow 8am.

5 1/2 hours plugging away on 18 dropped a whole bunch of trees bucked and stacked most of them before downpour/ hail halted progress.

we have taken some great advice of late, stepped away from our heads down working and looked up to see what we actually had
it's strange what you see when you pull away from work and just be an observer
Thanks Karl for coming up today and offering us wisdom
Thanks to the others who took the time to give feedback
A few things Guy and I had discussed prev to any feedback and the added input makes it easier for us to let go of some areas and/or tweak some others
we want challenging,fair and also FUN
we understand that RFG is nowhere close to major amounts of people
that said we think the next waive of tweaks will encourage much more play and offer a more fun vibe
we plan on punishing you in some spots just not every spot anymore lol
the landandcourse looks sharp wow Guy that last weedwhacking was great
conclusions from feedback, club needs, our own thoughts
red=completed
hole 4 will be removed
hole 5 will become hole 4 but it will be a trail from 3's green shortuphill walk that then throws down tocurrent 5's tee area, the stonewall behind tee currently will be OB where the basket is going
this eliminates the giant uphill par 4 that then leads to a longer downhill walk to 6 rather a short flat walk to current 6's tee
6 will become 5, 7 becomes 8, and so on,until hole 18 that then 18 becomes 17&18
current 6,7,8 remain same
current 9 may see an adjustment in the Fall, we have several ideas currently all valid and depending on our end game for holes 10/18
hole 10may be tweaked
hole 11 will receive a major overhaul..we are not fighting the rocky tee area anymore
hole 11 become a par w/ new tee/pin location...this also lessens the walk from 11-12 as more of the land is used
12 remains
13 2 cuts on lower gap keep upper tee
hole 14 remains
hole 15 entire bottleneck gets cleaned let em try for the green as suggested by a few and we kinda been waiting to see how it played
suggested slight redesign to possible par 4
the verdict is leaning towards pureeing it and let the distance/elevation/shot shape stand on its own
hole 16
not where we want it to be currently...needs a tweak
we are looking for different on this hole and the wall is going to used for OB nomatter what but just not translating from drawing board to reality
cheater gap is grr also damoverhanders
so guy and I need to tweak this to a better standard
17 remains a few cuts in landing area
18 becomes 17/18
use current 18's tee and fairway till the highly discussed BS starts par 4 hole..its a great hole looks very clean
18's green becomes a hole we are ending with a sexy down hill ace run with a pipe and island green
its fun like entire bag fun(coughstevecoughlol)
the future
hole 1 is nixed for several reasons
it doesn't fit the course at all, the walk from 18-1 is dumb, keep course all off the range
we add a hole this offseason somewhere in the mass land by /15/16 discussed we have a plan
this will be an offseason change and we will enjoy ourselves with this one take our time and have fun

I updated by deleting items from punch list ^^^^
productive day today
Bob from RFG was there bright and early..before us even and we arrived at 730am
tractor unloaded and already out in woods
we brought tee materials to holes 2,3,5
they came out sweet and are super throwable to the max..road millings work awesome and look sharp
it compacts so nicely, its real fine material actually
we used all the material we had on site
this week a huge amount is suppose to be brought there...I am optimistic from todays showing so that is cool
we will have bob p's machine for the far out areas...he said its 5ft plus wide but he has saw now to cut anything along his way that is a pain....I think Guy should work with Bob..we know how bobby cuts lol
a pickup will take mediumloads up the access road to and to stage a pile for powerline holes
bob from RFG will be loading materials at pile with his tractor
myself and 1-2 other laborers working with truck/machines we should be able to seriously bang them all out
it went super quickly today
the course has now changed and 4 is gone,baskets moved, arrows on baskets to next tees out and arrows for trails out
the new hole change is awesome and super fun..
the course looks amazing and is playing so much better currently
I suspect the change dropped 30 minutes off round time

could all use some flat stones before sunday to help with fill purposes
she leaves at 1030am Sat for CT so I am free
will paint till then, but after if you are available maybe do a few hours up there...walk there..bring saw cut behind 9's tee area, drop those 2 trees on 7 etc on our way
possible Friday morning early if you are available head up and bang out that area by range that needs a quick saw clean up for glow? but I would then have to get back shortly after that
LMK so I can plan...besides for sunday that is what I can give this week
the island event is this weekend so eric lwould be an out....need to find pick up truck before then will call BOBrfg see if any members would do it...I estimate it is 6-7 trips up road...not bad
if the person is froggy or we had 2 trucks I think we could get 8,9 with trucks as well
reducing the number we need Bob P to four 7,11,17,16,18
the tractor gets 4,10,18(new)
I think no matter what 15 will need some hand labor buckets,wheelbarrow..but won't need much as the subgrade there is perfect for what we need anyways..will have truck leave pile there..maybe bob gets us close with 5 gallon pails filled and we haul from 14's green
that would be the plan
maybe put it out on FB somewhere that we need a pickup truck? and Iwillsee what the club can do
maybe post it there on the RFG siteFB?

we are in pretty great shape with everything besides tee signs and again we can rediscuss that Sunday after I have had a few days to see how logs go we get wedz from lot clearing adventure to see if its realistic or not

6 hours today
New 5 removed the two trees cut stacked hole is done
3 cleaned up left side more 1/2 brush pile still needs relocation
Old 18 dropped and bucked the Giant, cut and removed trees from the other cut and cut and dragged off 2 medium hemlocks right side
Still needs tee material and cleanup upper side of stonewall
Rob dropped by and returned the bin and a lost disc and said he will be in work mode tomorrow
So 8am start tomorrow I am thinking knock off old 15, 16, and 17 mods
Titan can I grab the gate key in the am??

we crushed 15, if anyone complains well where's my powder!
altered 16(much more what we were looking to achieve with this hole) was cut/cleaned, it's ready for play
I need to dig the tee area and we will put a thin layer of material on it as this off season we plan to evolve the hole more
dropped one of the 2 trees on new12 to pure that end gap up
some slight cosmetics when we go get the high risk cut, wind was a blowing today
we scouted our new hole for this off season between 15-16 on some new fresh land that links perfectly, as we have decided to eliminate hole 1 after this season, the course will start at hole 2 next year
this gets us off the field entirely and just saves so much headaches for life and let's face it hole 1 doesn't fit the course
once we get new practice basket we will put it nearish old hole 1 and if people want to throw it fine..that is a great solution to any BS
next up I believe is 17's approach tweak as suggested and reviewed after play
clear path behind 8(n) tee area for machine access
cut lower green area of 7(n)
etc
edit updated list by deleting, after sunday will update/repost by the week
14 more days of work till Thursday before event and I must enter TD mode and minor lower temp work
Lets hope Sunday that list has shrunk hugely

IMO we recreated tully old 6 today
after thinking about it...it plays exactly the same and looks very similar
people loved that hole actually, it was my adopt a hole way back when it was hell after timber harvest
I think people will enjoy
actually after sunday when we get even more tee areas completed..I would strongly encourage anyone to check it out
after this last waive of work, tees,tweaks this place is super frigging fun

I forgot to thanks our 3 four legged friends and Nova
nova has logged some serious course work in her 2 year lifespan....many more hours then some players I know
I asked her what she wanted to hear about for a story tonight
"find rob" and "drive with guy"
cool that her imagination wanted to recreate todays events!
you 2 are role models lol
