I think the bestest / quickest addition (if you have to) would be the extension of hole 7; another pin another 100-150' further back (than the present one) to then hook up with alt. 8's tee box. This would give Tolland another par-4.

OK, I'm game for walking some new holes. Shawn, Jay, anyone else interested. I think the long 7 and connecting hole to alt 8 has merit. I know we have bandied this about before, so I think we should look into it. We have looked at opportunities around alt 11 in the past, and although there is plenty of land there, it is just completely uninteresting flat land that would need a lot (a real lot) of trees removed to make a go at it. On the other hand there is a lot of land still unused near 17 and 18 that we could tap into that has some elevation change. Granted it could be a bit swampy at times, but still worth looking at.
Should we set a date for the walk through or do you just want to get in touch with me on a weekend or evening ?
How about somebody to purchase these through ? Lick, MS, who ?

Since you guys are all ambitious / got the Jones for hole make'n 8-) , just another idea...

Combine long 8 and 9 into a par-4. All present holes 10 - 16 drop 1 number...and look at a new due-westerly flowing hole off of / near present 17's tee. This would shoot toward the NW corner of the field (down, then up). You'd build a new 17 tee over there and shoot back to present 17's basket; continuing on to 18 (as is). This would have the potential of adding a par-4 or 2 to the course.

I made in my mind 9 holes across the parking lot you would start by the green box next to the shed into the wood play 4 holes in there coming back out to the edge of the parking lot where you will shot down the grass next to the road to a basket on the other side of the pond, then shot back into the wood and finish hole 9 with a basket on the edge of the pond. looked really fun if we had the money.

Not sure yet on the pricing Les but we are aiming for the lowest amount possible. Don't worry about it anyways, we have a free spot for the Course Designer/Pro  .

Jay - Give me a call at 860-967-8942 one of these evenings and we'll set-up a time to walk the course. I am available Wed's and Fri's after work (non disc playing days) and some weekends. We have Team challenge this weekend and then again on 4/14. We will get Clayton and any others involved when we have an action plan. I'm all for more eyes to survey the place. -Or- you can contact me by facebook, although I only check it at night as I don't have a smartphone.

I'm currently shopping for the new baskets.
Jay, myself and anyone else who wants to work on the new holes, will be working to clear fairways and set things up.
There is much work to be done to get three new holes installed. The extended #7 and #15 will be easy enough to get squared away.
The new #7b (for lack of a better name at present) will take a fair amount of effort to get ready.
This doesn't include flypads for the new holes and we are slightly underfunded for getting this done.
If there are any league monies or donations to the course out there, we could surely use them now.
Buying 3 chainstar baskets complete with sleeves and shipping is looking to cost us in excess of $400 ea (unless someone knows of a better price, shipped).
Our current funding is just over $1K. It would be nice to add flypads to this but at $150 or so each, we can't manage the $450 hit.
Wood and stone dust for new tees would be great if anyone has supplies to donate.
The big factors here are time, labor and money. All of which we are short on.
So to sum up the big question - "will it all be ready for the big tournament in July" - I don't know.
Help make it happen by then and it could happen.

OK, So we have a possible game changer here.

We can buy all 9 of the baskets from the St Pauls course (just up the road) for $800.00

They are not chainstars. They are portables (that we could mount permanently).

But they are 9 baskets !!!!

Please let me know your thoughts about this (and quickly).

I need to act fast.

So, after much conversation, it looks like we will be going with the discatcher baskets (9) from St Paul's (that course is no more).
We will pay $800 from our course funds to purchase the baskets.
This will give us 27 holes at Cross farms.
Looks liike we will pick these up sometime this week if all goes well.
Now comes the fun part - Clearing fairways and building tee boxes and signs.
Who's got time free to help with this ? Anyone Buehler, Buehler, Buehler............
