I'm thinking we randomize the order and you get to pick what team you want.

Or we can have the teams listed and the order that your name comes up corresponds with what team you get.

$10, $20?

Let's do it.

idiotic.

ever think that the game didn't mean [bleep] to the Patriots and everything to the Texans, and on the last drive of the game that it's more likely to be sending everyone after the QB.. ecsp. Bernard Pollard?

Wouldn't expect anything else from you LaGrassa.

And I wouldn't expect anything less of a riposte from the idiot who predicted that the Pats would run the table after the week 10 loss to Indy.

Ha ha that article made me laugh and that guy is an idiot. He had a good article of hate going on till he wrote about playing well with a few games left with beating Minn, GB, and Miami. Somebody should have told him that the Vikings win was in week 7. It wasnt even half way through the season. A good attempt at stirring the pot and trying to bring the hate.

Yeah Jeff, no reason to bring the sour grapes to a Pats-dominated thread. Way, way too speculative a posture from a Steelers fan. The other take is that IF this guy's wrong (i.e. Belichek tried to win the game)Belichek looks even more questionable--perhaps the football version of "mystique and aura" is coming to a close.....

But who cares? Your switching to a Pens signature clearly signifies that our focus has moved on....

Anyone see that Pierce-to-Rondo game-tyer with .6 seconds left on the clock?

The NBA--it's FAN-tastic!

Please, Solbo. A) they don't suck and B) "at least my team is in the playoffs" reminds me of the year Duquette rationalized the Sox second-place finish to the Yankees with "We spent more time in first place than any other team."

You're making me pull for the Ravens at the expense of all my Pats fans friends that lack your toxicity.

The NBA blows Stew. Ever wonder why there is no thread for basketball on here and the ones for baseball and football are 20 pages long. Even hockey has a thread.

No, I never wondered why. Given the whack jobs (and I love 'em all--don't get me wrong) that make up our NEFA population, I'd hardly use that as a litmus test for sports legitimacy.

Besides, I want to be unique--just like everybody else!

P.S. Just because the Bucks last one a championship 40 Years Ago I can understand your Badger State indifference.

You are aging yourself with that one Stewie.

Yes, the Bucks suck but they used to have Lew Alcindor. And when I was watching them (before I realized how silly NBA basketball is) they had Jack Sikma, Terry Cummings, and Sidney Moncreif and were actually pretty good.

Nah. It's just that the NHL bores me to tears. I guess I'm more attracted to plays being set up where there's a score say, 50% of the time vs. say 10% of the time.

I don't know if that's accurate--what does the average NHL team do? Take about 40 shots a game and make 4 goals?

To me, NHL action is a guy getting the puck, making a pass or two, then having it stolen or miss a shot. A lot of watching with so little success.

It would be lke Rondo bringing the ball down and turning it over 2/3 of the time. I realize that NBA guys making 50% of their shots is monotonous for the hockey fans, so it's to each his own.

My wife has turned into a huge NBA fan (with the three men in the family watching every Celtics game, it was a matter of time). Her observation: They are the most athletic (in terms of being in shape and making amazing plays) of all the sports. Don't mess with Mo, Matt. Mo knows....

Yea, what a staggering blow. I surely won't be able to get up from that one.

For anyone paying any sort of attention, my prior signature file was this:

Image

Now since the Steelers missed the playoffs, and don't have the opportunity to defend their championship, then they really aren't champions anymore, right? And Pittsburgh can't really be considered the City of Champions anymore, right?

Ridiculous that I even have to explain the change of signature file.

This is easy. I agree with Todd.

Take the "best, most athletic" player in either sport.

NHL, I'd go with Ovechkin. NBA, I'd go with LeBron.

I know where Charles Barkley stands on this... he thinks Ovie is better. I think Charles speaks out his ass and can't even do SNL correctly.

LeBron, jumps higher, runs faster, is stronger and oh yeah, he does all of this with a much bigger body. 6' 8" - 250 pds. While Ovechkin is skating around at "25 mph" with the "assistance" of skates at 6'2" 233, seeing as they are razor sharp and helping him "glide" on a surface. Lebron runs on a surface that creates friction. Cuts harder, without the assistance of properly sharpened skates and is playing approx. 42 MPG out of 48... Ovechkin... ATOI 21 min out of 60... woo hoo.

Yes, but not nearly at the level of an NBA player? Surely you have to see a difference?

How many people can skate? HMM?

What does knowing how to skate have to do with athleticism? Obviously more people know how to walk than skate, considering every able bodied person on the planet does it daily. I fail to see how this applies to NBA vs NHL.

This applies how to being more athletic?

Haha. You guys are right.

You can skate better than Lebron James so you obviously are more athletic...

Have fun trying to dunk a basketball, jump 44 inches, or run a 4.5 sec 40.
