its the "alto's magical fun land" loop

We have yet to test the waters with the town parks and rec. So until I have the baskets (should be picking them up tonight), I won't approach the town about use of other parts of the park. Worst that can happen is that we add Alt. pin locations to the existing course (which wouldn't be all that bad). otherwise, maybe we do add an Alto's fun loop as Jeff puts it.
We need lots of feet on the ground and eyes on the land, to find new potential fairways for our new nine.

Nice work on getting the baskets les. I can definetly help out just don't have a lot of time right now. It may actually be a better option to add alt baskets to 9 of the holes, we already have alt tees on 2,9,14,15 alt basket on 18 that needs just a little more work on the lane to get there. With these 9 baskets we could have a nice 18 hole layout with 2 options on just about every hole. that way we don't need to create 9 "new" holes/tees/fairways etc just expand on what is already there......just a thought. There is a lot of unused land that could easily fit another 9 though, and 27 holes would be great.

Congratulations and thanks to Tolland leagues and various donors, we have now purchased 9 additional baskets for use whenever we are ready for them.
I suggest that in the interest of using these sooner than later, that we make some alt positions as Shawn and others have suggested, for now.
This will allow for there to be variety in time for the upcoming NEFA event at Tolland.
Eventually, we will hope to lay out an additional 9, get approval from the town, then relocate to a permanent home.
This means, however, that we need to do some immediate work to clear around new pin placements and then locate the portables with some kind of theft deterrent. Anybody got a bunch of chain or cable they would be willing to lend or donate ?
Anybody want to do a workday this weekend ? I would want to see at least a half dozen volunteers to make this worthwhile.

I cleared the fairways and placed the pins to add alternate positions on hole 5 and 7.
5 is back to the right of the current pin. I added a marked walkout to the tee of 6.
7 is further straight back from the current pin. The fairway plays from the right side of the main fairway with a best first throw landing on top of the road. A walkout from the alt pin to the alt 8 tee needs to be made.
I saw potential for an alt 10 going either to the left or right of the pin, deep.
Keep your eyes open for alt opportunities. Post here if you have ideas please.

Alto, I thought your back was shot ?
I think we can get an alt hole to the left or to the right of the fairway on 10 (be wary of the wetland at the end of the normal fairway).
Scope something out there, then start clearing deadwood from the fairway and green area. Mark the pin location with something. I would prefer to not have to cut any really big trees to make a route if possible. Look for natural lanes.
I can come through and do some cutting soon.

Added alt pin on hole #10 today. Lies to the left of the current pin and back a little further.
Now there is either an alt tee or pin on holes# 5,7,8,9 (two add'l tee choices short/long), 10, 14, 15.
Additionally there are implied, field based alt tees on #'s 1 & 2.
And, you can always play a hole 19 by heading to the right a bit after finishing on 18, then shooting for the practice basket.
Expect new alt holes to pop up periodically. Still hoping for some input from the course pro's.
Good work on the extra chains on 5 & 7 guys. Got more for 10 ?

Lost a tee bird to the left on hole 19 over the cars. If anyone finds it if u could just hold onto it instead of bringing it up the road

Went back and was whackin ferns and small brush on hole two for at least an hour yesterday. Unfortunealty it doesnt look like I did much. Needs another couple hours to really clean it up. I want to get the right side where alt tee shots end up. That area will look sweet when its cleared out.
They call me Fern Slayer.
