Cleaned up all the excess cement, wood, and trash around the tees.
Maubin and I prepped the two cement tees and have been working on some others.
Most likely have our concrete tee unveiling around 9:30/10 Saturday morning followed by a round.

We need to have two more organized workdays to knock this course up a peg or two and get ready for the tournament.

First workday - our mission will be to remove all the multi flora rose on and between Holes 12 & 13. This will be a beastial effort that is within our reach because I will be renting a sickle bar mower. We just need folks to help guide me through the thorns and to help drag the veg away. Timing TBA, but I'm thinking April 14, 28, or 29.

Second workday - will be performed closer to the tournament, it's mission will be to weedwack the spring growth where necessary and to pick up trash. Timing TBA, but I'm thinking May 5, 12, or 13.

What dates work for you???

Long and short tees are measured. The long course plays par 58 at 6265 feet and the short course plays par 54 at 4600 feet.

I just uploaded a new park city scorecard to dgcoursereview....here:

Played the Vet yesterday.

Awesome job with the cement tees on 17 and 18. Flat with the ground, nice grippiness and should be maintenance free and vandal proof.

Nice job!!

If we did 4/28 we could use your truck to transport a sickle bar mower. I want to rent it again to get rid of all those nasty bushes on 12 and 13. I think that place nearby is closed Sunday. Not sure HD has these...

It goes without saying (but in case you haven't been watching the news)...please DO NOT light any fires at the course. This includes throwing cigarette butts too. Carry in, carry out.

I can do morning of 4/28, but I have a dr. appt. midday, and could come back in the afternoon.

Let me know what you are thinking but it could work out for transporting the brush hog.

<---Bachelor for the week, woo!

Will be at the Vet tomorrow. All day!

Can't wait to see all the improvements since I was last free enough to golf.

Things sure are happening fast down there. Thanks to the Good Man and all the others busting their humps improving this new gem.

Cheers!

Course work continues. We have a new tee for 5 long going in! It's sweet...
4 long and 8 long also got makeovers.
2 short is in the process of being completed.

Veg is attempting to crowd our style, so we need weed wackers. I would like to get a few folks with wackers out for a workday in a couple weeks. Also still firming up sickle bar mower day. Anyone want to do either of these THIS SATURDAY :?:

OK!!!! :P Let me confirm with the rental company that their SICKLE is available for SATURDAY.

We would also need confirmation from a few folks that would be able to help guide the mower and drag the debris. Ideally it would be great to have another big workday like when we did Hole 12 before (pizza anyone?), but 3-4 dedicated soldiers could get the job done.

We are having a WORKDAY tomorrow (Saturday!). I'll be there starting at 9am.
We will work on Hole 13 in order to get it playable for the tournament.
We need weedwackers and rakes!!! Also machetes, grass whips, loppers, and tarps.
Most of all we need people to help out.

Whoa! We did a great job on Hole 13. I rented a gas powered hedge trimmer and it worked great.
Thanks to the Tavos, Marvino, Dustino, & Tobino.
Still so much more to do...

This whole week since Saturday has been great. So many people have come through...

Besides the consistent help from mAubin, gTavo, Dan, Dustino, and Marvino, we had:
Daver come through with a brush destroyer on Hole 13 (which is looking incredible now)
Ditter come through and motivated us to push back the edges and expose a new chimney on Hole 11.
And Toby came through and helped transport our new picnic table on Hole 14/17.

Additionally...
Hole 5 long has a new tee is that is slightly back and the left of the original. It is now 500'.
Hole 15 long has been leveled and is awaiting a stone dust deposit.
Also our trash removal effort continues...

Just played Veteran's Park for the first time yesterday. Great course you have going there. Loved most of the pin positions. Most complaints I would have will of course be smoothed out in time (tee pads, some areas need to be beat in, some briars near the baskets on a couple of holes, etc). The one serious issue I would bring up is that 8's tee is too close to 7's basket. Lot of possible interference there.
Otherwise, though, I loved it.

What types of scores are you guys seeing out there? Shot a pair of 53s from the longs on Saturday. First round was mostly banging out 3s with four 2s and three 4s. Second round I started hitting lines half time time and cranked out six 2s but crapped the bed with two 5s.

Looking forward to the 20th. Sweet tournament course.
