WORKDAY this Saturday starting at 9:00.
This will be the last official workday before the tournament.
So much to get done, please consider helping out.

We need weedwackers most of all. If you have a gas powered weed wacker, please consider bringing to The Vet on Saturday.
Otherwise extra hands will be crucial. Also don't forget to wear long pants.

So much has been going on at the course, its unbelievable. Almost every hole that needs it, has received a healthy dousing of stonedust.
Many new tees have been flattened. Weeds have been wacked. Trees have been climbed and vines pole sawed. We are almost there.

WORKDAY tomorrow. Come lend a hand, check out the course, play a round.
Bring a weedwacker, bring leather gloves, wear long pants.

Oh, almost forgot the City of Bridgeport has MOWED the field. It looks so good. Might even say the course has never looked better!

WOW so much press in the last couple days. We are making waves!!!!

First there is this: http://fairfield.patch.com/announcements/park-city-charity-open-a-disc-golf-tournament

Then tonight we should be on local news channels 4, 8, & 12 at a press conference at the park with Mayor Finch, the Police Chief, and many more. ATVs are not allowed at the park and enforcement is starting! WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENT.

I think the CT Post is writing an article for Saturday too.

He lives on The Cape. I can bring it to him when I go on the 30th to his tourney.

Also, I lost an orange Teebird in the thick stuff to the right of hole 16. Reward if found and returned to me.

That Beast belongs to Zach Taggart, My brother in law. He lives in Bristol, CT but he will be at the 2012 CCO Bill, you could just bring it when you come to win it :-)

Look for the stonedust patch.
1 short is about 100' directly in line in front of long tee.
18 short is directly in line with long just before the asphalt road.

Unfortunately the news is true, the basket on Hole 16 at the Park City Disc Golf course was stolen Wednesday night. The police have been notified and a case opened. I'm attempting to publicize so hopefully the basket will be returned. Please keep your eyes and ears open for anyone bragging or playing on their "new" backyard basket. This makes me sick when I think about how much work went into building this course, revitalizing this park, and adding an incredible resource for the City of Bridgeport.

Be on the look out for anyone selling a basket on-line (Craigs List or EBAY).

Assuming that the facts resemble a "theft" versus "teenager vandalism", the thief is not likely to be a serious disc golfer but rather someone who know's these things cost a couple hundred dollars. A permanent basket is not usually one that pops up in a back yard as those are most portables.

As the popularity of the game grows, basket in public parks become targets. It would be nice if at the "industry level" additional safeguards/deterrants could be established. Welding, locks, etc. Also, though a simle engraved "branded label" such as "Property of Veteran's Park Disc Golf Course" or something to that effect would not be too costly to add to shipset of baskets for an entire course and would certainly "brand" the items as "stolen". Although not yet practical at a low cost to the public, GPS chips are cheap as hell to manufacture and are used by parents to monitor teenage drivers whereabouts, etc., embedding such in the frame of the unit would be a cool feature but I don't have a specific feel for how costly such technology would be to put into the frame of the basket.

Also, Bridgeport Parks and Recs may have some type of insurance that could be tapped into.

Wick will be lending a basket to replace the stolen item. When you have the funds, you can settle up with us.
Upon inspection of the sleeve, you will have to replace the whole setup, as the existing ground sleeve was manhandled. Obvious that the punks came in with a sledge or something and just pounded the everloving [bleep] out of the lock and collar............hmmmmmm, here's an idea: maybe someone could treat them like they treated the lock and collar........

I finally played this course - with Dave Jones and Ed Malloy - yesterday.

It's nice to have all those roads/paths to choose from, but Adam - you did a really great job. This course has a Sedgeley feel in spots, and a Kisco feel in other spots. You have really used the terrain well - although I heard some mutterings about too many uphill shots (this reporter disagrees, however). We played the longs, and I managed a 58 first time through - felt good. Keeping it safely in play pays large dividends at Vet..............Hole 5 was not my favorite - thought I had a good safe drive right up the middle, butt was probably 50' short of the short fairway....VERY limited options at that point - maybe a tree or two will die.

After our round, we sat at the first tee sipping some Torpedoes and Rumpleminz - and reminiscing about our 105 years of dg experiences. We also talked with a bunch of groups of young players, who were all pretty pumped about the course. Met one young dude with ear piercings who was REALLY wanting to help out doing some work. He's an aborist and said he could grab like five other dudes at pretty much any time. I was hoping that he would be posting here - Adam, you should see if you could track him down somehow.........

It's possible Park City Disc Golf will be hosting a Veteran's Park day for the city to come check out the course. It's on August 11th and I was thinking about having some clinics and games and getting people out to play. We may be having some players coming to check it out for the first time, but it would also be nice to have seasoned players there too. Anyone going to be around and want to help out? And if not help out...at least come play the "tournament".
