Some good work completed at the course today. I think Tim and Mini Cooper knocked out Hole 8, it looks awesome. I finished 5 and 6. I think we are done with the majority of fairway work. The course is playing great. IMO all that's left is a little tee work and we are GTG for the tourny.

Also the town cut all the tall grass in the fields across Lapham Road!!!!!! And the 6 field holes have been roughed out. They are sick. Right now we have one par 5, three par 4s, and two par 3s.

Been out on the course the last two days and have created a to do list.
Need to replace the missing tee markers.
Some weed and stick clean up.
Walked the trail that Gregg made from #12 to #1 and that needs some clean-up.
The main goal this winter is to come up with a plan to complete the course. That includes looking at every hole and the areas where holes can be added.
I'll be out on the course this week and Sunday if anyone can help that would be great.
The ticks are out.
Tim

Played the wave after working at Vets in Bridgeport. Will replace tee markers next Sunday.
If anyone sees the jerk that is pulling out the tee markers and doing damage to the course let me know.
Thanks to the guys that cleared the tees of leaves.

Going to try to play the southern CT Merrit Parkway courses Sunday.
Vets, Cranbury & the Wave. Maybe I could start in wallingford, hit orange and get five courses in on Sunday.

That could be a great day - 55 holes! All those courses r within 5 minutes from Rt 15. Hard to believe only 1 out of 5 is a full 18 holes...that is at least for now.

Tim, I'm up for part or all of that.

:D Got to play VETS today and had a great time... shot 29.
Went to Cran to play but in was too backed up, packed up and went to the WAVE to finish my day...Maybe it is good to have courses that are not 18 holes because few people play them.

Played the course today, not much damage from the snow storm and the wind that followed.
There will be some clean to do this spring.
Evan Artooga, found a yellow Champion Valkyrie of yours on hole 6.
Also found a yellow Discraft XL Pro-D series with no name.

The Wave is starting to thaw. Lost a tree near the first tee so you have to play from the red or blue tee. Some clean up will need to be done throughout the course.
I have contacted the Park & Rec to see what their feelings are about expanding to 18 holes.

Cut up the tree on the first hole near the white tee, so you can play from the white tee now.
The course is in good shape just needs a little clean up and tee work.
Have not heard from the town yet, time to bug them again.
Matt Jackson, I found your dog leash.

8-) Waveny Open...Sunday Sept. 11th, NEFA points, PDGA C.
This Sunday I will be guiding a group of Cub Scouts out on the course, should be some fun.
I have no new news on the possible expansion to 18 holes, Disc Golf is not a major focus at this time but I will keep everyone posted.

 I have finished working on my house and now i can devote my time to the WAVE. I will be working on the course Wed and Sunday.
I have found that the delay in talks about expanding to 18 holes was because the chairman of park & rec has resigned so I need to find a new member to discus expansion.

:D That was nice to see the wave featured.
Today I did ton of weed cutting and cleared the paths between holes. Also moved the tree that had fallen across #6 fairway about half way down. This Sunday I will be out in the morning working on hole #1 and then hope to finish up #6 & #10.

8-) It would be great to have a two day four course tournament and this would take some planning.
ANYONE that wants to HELP cut some WEEDS please come by the WAVENY and HELP, I will be out on the course by 9am Sunday if not earlier.
The natural gas line area that runs through Waveny has been mowed, this helps a ton with hole #6, it should be interesting to see if any new holes can be worked into this area now that it is clear of all the thorns and tall weeds.
I have been emailing the Park & Rec people about possible expansion but because of the chairman resigning there has not been any discussion about expansion.
I'll keep bugging people and working on the course.

First, thanks to Adam for helping out with hole #1 weeds. We also looked into areas where the course could be expanded and what tweaks could be made to the course.
New holes - Down the pipe line for a new hole #1, then an uphill hole that goes back towards the current #1. Then two more holes after #7 and then just get the town to OK two holes across the street in the open field area.
Tweaks - #3, #4 could be played around with to better flow and for safety issues. #5 has the potential to end up on the other side of the pipe line, just need to create an opening in trees behind basket.

:D Played a few holes with a bunch of Cub Scouts and some parents. Everyone had a great time but I think the parents were more into it than the youngsters. Gave them some plastic and they ended up having a great time. Followed that by playing a round and then worked on the course.

Holes 1, 10, 11 & 12 have been weed whacked and they look great.
There were many players out on the course today, good to see.

Today I cleaned up hole #9, whacked weeds, moved dead wood so the left side is very clean in the woods. Also cleaned up the gap so the fairway is framed, however I do need pole saw some of the taller branches. I did some work on hole #8 too.

Hey Tim, just wondering if you and/or Adam are still planning to run a Waveny Open on Sun. Sept. 11th (and as a PDGA event).

Just trying to figure some things out for September, so I appreciate any info you may have. And if you are a go, you can count on me for a hole sponsorship.
