question for the Dam team..

things are being discussed early this year

thoughts of doing this have been buzzing around

TullyRock stays...
Johnny Britton is starting a wapack and would like to include devens to start
Ross Run may have a team as well.

so we scale back are rosters...in turn form 3 teams players can go where they "fit" best

so who likes this..?

ok a lil background on where this idea spawns from

for me and derek the original intent for TC for this area was not only to hang with friends was always to further the promotion and talent from our "home course" area..he is now a CW allstar but the idea still burns bright with me

I personally don't care about titles, stacked teams ect ect...I want people from this area to want to achieve improving their game and be apart of a team if they desire...also I have seen first hand what TC can do for a course..brings people whom might never go to a certain course..thus spreading the word and helps bring players to a course..also introduces "locals" to nefa/pdga members and they catch the tourney "bug" ala tasty your captain for one example

tullyrock got smoked for players,DAM team is shaping up to have players leave/retire as well

Johnny Britton wants/needs players at his course for OBV reasons..evolve SNH DG and gain input on his course, and as anyone would want show people your hardwork

Ross Run at PCC deserves a team they offer what a team should want!!! so basically is a no brainer IMO

Tully is kinda of a pain to host challenges at just a parking lot

Flatrock has always expressed interest to be just FR in the future only natural as we no longer need Tully it is what it is the seasonal public free to play course for all to enjoy..no need for a team IMO yeah a piggey back for another course alternative but we have others now that offer what TC demands..place out of elements, electricity, privacy at times

Royalston F&G and game will also have a course by 2013 season so they could be part of the fusion in future as well

Devens has the player pool for sure and IMO many are ready for next level past league..heck they NEED it they just don't know where to go past league sometimes..hanging with buds playing matchplay is less overwhelming then a filled event..

Devens is public for sure..but maybe a team in the future there will bring everyone together even more to get the "next course" in who knows

so wapack and devens can feed each other till ready for "own" team..keene is done and players fill there to help wapack..devens has another area course by then to cross connect or they go solo..that area is boooming could have their own team already

tullyrock and the out here locals break into PCC and Flatrock..I guess tullyrock could live but I would rather see just FR

we have 10-14 man/girl teams and find/breed local talent rather this poaching crap across TC land..we show em how a team should be made..unlike the "yankee" method

so do you all wanna be yankee lovers? or show some local course pride..?

trust me guys I see the future...we will have NO teams if we don't all figure the equation out...and I can see the TC going regional once the blanks are filled in...this would fit in nice

also this allows us to in the future if we so desire to not participate in the NETC we would have enough teams to create a lil mini TC for our local areas to compete against each other...the team aspect goes a long way for a course IMO in any fashion

If the team breaks apart, I would much rather be a part of a Devens only team.

I'm in for this coming season . I'd rather have dam hill team stay together but as Andy says if it's splitting up devens would be my choice as well. When did this all come about ? I thought we were only losing two ppl well 3 but only because of an injury.

Devens for me too. If teams are splitting up we need to start acting on it pretty much now. I may regret this but if needed I can captain the Devens team. I know Adam doesn't read this stuff often so can someone call him to join in on the discussion and see what he wants to do.

It seems like the Devens team would be a very similar team to Dam Hill though:

Me
Andy
Jaybob
Prob Frank
Prob Alex
Prob Alan
Prob John Hart
Maybe Donnie

Others to consider:
Pete Nevius
Taylor Maz

If Tully Rock is breaking up maybe Rob, Arty, Ken G, etc. They would prob stay on Flat Rock though.

Any others?

We can have qualifier rounds at league too to round out the roster. I am sure lots of local guys would want to do this.

I will talk to tasty, franchi,JB and TR this weekend again to get some details ironed out..your right Luke we gotta figure this out early....I for one don't want BS close to the start of the season and scramble mode...so my personal goal would be mid sept to have all this figured out(or sooner)

The devens team would crush...and I think it is great idea..so we can include PCC and Wapack into this TC rotation and get the region on the right track for the future
so each course/area can evolve as a team an sustain long term

Tullyrock is not done yet...but heck if we lose anymore players we just may be

Luke TY for stepping up...again

last I spoke with him he was highly interested in a PCC team..spoke with him this AM..he is gonna call to discuss later today after work..I will speak with timB at PCC this afternoon when I am up there

Bill M is a huge fan of PCC as he has golfed there since he was a kid..(tasty to)...so I envision them taking the reigns there...grabbing a few solid vets and then tryouts for the team there...

spoke with JB from wapack..he is in atlanta...if they can get 8 players they are down for a team..he will be back this weekend...if they can't we plug the players from there onto PCC,Devens, or TR..once keene is in mix this team will thrive...surviving till the talent pool there evolves is the issue..but once that happens SNH is gonna blow up..mine as well set up for the expected near future

PCC can list Barre as 2nd course maybe as well...

would devens have 2 courses?...coggs.dacey..?IDK

does this all make sense?....seems to in my brain..lol

edit
dont be afraid to throw it out there at league...as no matter what it is safe to say regardless of what happens tatsy would come home to TR if PCC does not happen this yeaR....

I would like to say something to The Dam Hill Team.....

First thank you for the oppurtunity to be your captain over these last 2 years it has been so enjoyable for me. I started off by being probably one of the lower players on the team and from playing with all of you guys and getting imput and watching I was blown away and it just stepped up my game sooo much and I really want to thank everyone for that.

As you have been seeing there looks to be a lot of changes getting made to our teams this year and we are going to go through with it this year. So this is going to unfortunately break our team up. I will be going to PCC with Bill this year and I will be co-captain with Titan and starting fresh. I really thought about this move really hard because I enjoy playing with the team that we have but I also see that there are some up and coming players in both the Petersham and Devens area and we need to allow more space for everyone. I want to say that I enjoyed captaining every single person this year and Luke if you have any questions feel free to call either Titan or I and we can help with anything that you need. My number is -1-978-790-7062 for future reference. I feel that the Devens teams is going to be great and I wish you guys so much luck.

With that out of the way I just want to finish by saying thank you once again for the oppurtunity to play disc golf with all of you. Bill and I are going to miss you guys both on our team and playing with you instead of against you lol:(. I think this will be better for promoting disc golf in our areas better and might be easier on travel and arrangements as well. So again good luck and you guys are the best!!!

I've been following this thread for a while and at this point I will ask the question. I am new to the sport and was looking to join a team this year. I met Bill and Adam a few weeks ago and was excited to join up with the Dam team. For obvious reasons this will no longer be an option. So... I live 15 minutes north of Tully, what are my options for the next closest team in MA? Or has anyone confirmed a NH team out of WaPack yet?

I am open to suggestions.
