Before the brewery. It is the grassy area opposite side of the road from hole 10 tee box.

So now that i've had a chance to look at this disc 1st hand. I see the stamp has a weird image in the background that just doesn't seem to fit. What is with the tree line ghost image in the water? It doesn't make sense to me and was wondering if it was intentional.

One other thing i'd like to mention. Although I had a great time at hylands. The octoberfest was a little distracting. We had casuals all over the fairways by the pavilion that were quite clueless, hayrides down the middle of the fairways were in the way on 1, 8 and 9. We had to wait like 15 mins to tee off on 1 for everyone to get out of the way. And there was still people around the basket area that were distracting as we drove. One of the players in my group nearly took off a kids head cause she climbed the fence at the corner just as he threw. If the event is to be and end of year championship we need somewhere a litttle less distracted by the general public to have that championship imho.

Cropped it out and it sure is a separate photo that's ghosted over the original pic. Silhouettes of trees, people, telephone poles and maybe even a basket.

You guys weren't aware that an Orchard that has U pick em Apples, Peaches, pumkins, it's own brewery, a petting zoo, hay rides and a pavillion would be slammed packed in Oct?? Seriously?

Thats not what we said. They had a festival going on that we were not made aware of until the morning of. we expected them to have some people there but there was probably a thousand plus throughout the day that had no clue there was a tourney going on

I did went to Hyland the weekend before NEDGC and it was already SO packed to the nil. I was concern about the NEDGC the following weekend.

Well...I must say that it was clever for Hyland to give us "VIP" parking spots within walking distance to the pavilion. Can't complain.

Yes, I was bit distracted by this hoopla at the front 9's and having my own newbie caddy as well. I suck at the first annual NEDGC big time. At least I did enjoyed the scenery of Hyland's. Great music throughout the course and beers everywhere. Very cool tournament. Good thing it's not PDGA-scanctioned!! 8-)

My visor cap off to the TDs and NEFA committee for pulling this off. BTW, I do like the player's package!

For next year's AM's NEDGC, I'll rather to vote to play at different course OR switch course to let the Pros experience the same as AMs? Why not? :drunken:

Festival or not, Hylands busy time is still late September to Hallowen. There was something we played there last year on a weekend (maybe our 1st team challenge) and there were people everywhere. Hayrides on the fairway of hole 9. People picking pumpkins and peaches over by hole #1. Apple pickers over on other holes of the front 9

It's a great facility to have an event at. However this time of year there are too many other people up there to feel comfortable throwing a disc on multiple shots.

Something to remember.

What's the solution? Need: 2 courses, bathrooms, nearby affordable lodging, centrally located, and a covered area for awards.

On a serious note there were no awards at the seson end shindig where we should be celebrating all the everyone accomplished during the year was very lame.

Its almost impossible to pull off without a paid staff. It's really a lot to ask from a few un-paid volunteers. We would need to rent a hall (elks club, knights of columbus, etc) get it catered, and hold a true awards ceremony. We would need a large $$ budget. Thousands of dollars.

all that was needed was a tent and some lighting to do an awards ceremony. Next year it could be done any where with the above

Move in back into September to lessen the issues at Hyland, gaining sunlight in the process?

Move it to Wick and Tolland, party at Wick?

Wick and Crane, party in between?

You only need two courses if you want the Ams and Pros playing at the same time.

How about if Ams play Saturday, pros play Sunday? Have a big points series awards banquet Saturday night.

Or if you want to spread it out and let everyone play all weekend, do one round each day on a trickle start with the Ams going off first. As Ams finish, you build the gallery for the pros.

what I am saying is that organizing and running a 160 person 2 course event with prizes, season ending awards, tournament awards, and food is really difficult and time consuming. Trent and Zoro didn't even get to play in the event that they spent days planning and running. Nefa can pull it off, hopefully grow this event every year.

Great ideas Brad, that's what the goal is.

Unless I'm crazy there wasn't any food either. When I got to Hylands I asked about food and was pointed to a vendor?? I never would have driven all the way out to Hylands if there wasn't an actual gathering with food and a party.

Bathrooms = Portapotty
Covered area for awards= How many people have pop up tents?

Even if it was raining you were not going to get the pavillion to do awards. There were at least 100 ppl in there and a band. I'd say that there's always a band in there on weekends. EDIT: always a band in there on weekends this time of the year. This is an working Orchard.

Great ideas everyone. Keep in mind that this was a first attempt at something that we hope to grow for years to come. All of these suggestions, a banquet, new location, multiple days, etc are fantastic additions to the event. However, the management of that is something that really needs to start the previous year. I'll add a discussion item to the upcoming BoD meeting to review how to make these suggestions come to reality.

Considering it was the first year for this type of format, I thought everything went well. At least on the pro side. I always enjoy playing maple, and I think Dave and Gregor did a great job. Would it have been nice to have a large gathering afterwards for awards and food/beer? Sure it would have.

All you can do is try and improve on things for next year, but I think this format as a whole was a step in the right direction. Thanks to all that put time and effort into the event.

i agree with Sean...great first effort. A few bumps in the road, but everyone had fun and we have room to improve. @Pete Lauber...Thanks for the congrats. This is probably the last year i will beat Zack...what a great competitor, great sportsmanship and he is only going to get better. I feel totally blessed to be on a few final cards this year with such a nice young man. Good luck Zack and if u ever need anything don't feel hesitant to ask me.

if the rotating finals is removed...that is an entirely different issuie w/i the issue but anyways

if the vendor is put out to a bid then maybe finals should be to..it is only fair...put restrictions on it like the vendor has...Vendor needs to have X kinda thing

Royalston Fish and game will be ready by next year...super super legit course..parking for 600 cars...180 person indoor fire limit....outdoor pavilions/BBQ pits and other things...oh and a bar...tully/flatrock w/i 10 minute drive..just saying

centrally located is of the essence...ME is out so who cares about them lol

also on a hylands side note...at the garlic festival in my town an hour away..many people trickled in there piiissssed off about Nefa Finals not being advertised as they wanted to play DG at the festival...they were pumped to find out the G&A festival offered some kinda DG...just wanted to chime in on the fact both side of the coin was pissssssed a lil and hylands should thought that through..well whomever shoulda of
