Good News...the Town is going to start the chainsaw next week.

And they have committed to removing the yellow jacket nests!  That's a good thing b/c I've been stung 5-6 times already and had to see a doctor once. I might be allergic...

Being that we don't want anyone else to get stung, we'll wait for organized workdays and playdays until:
a) the bees are removed
b) the dead trees are cut
c) the baskets are installed

Are people interested in having another weekly mini in Farifield county :?:
When are people available to start playing :?:

I know Cranbury is on Wednesdays, so I was thinking maybe Tuesdays.
It would be great to have a few mini workdays where we work on a hole and then go play.

So obviously the key is to get the course playable. If the Town follows through then I could see minis starting in August!!!!

HI Adam, nice to see all the work being put into Waveny. I will definetly try to attend your first event-Dubs etc. Tuesdays or Thursdays works fine for me.

I would also like to volunteer to help with whatever is necessary to speed up the progression of the course. Maybe have a workday after the bee's are gone. I got bit on the head at The Jammer, not fun being attacked by bee's when your disc is inches from their home.

How close are you to installing baskets?

I can bring the Gps, and finally get the Surge.

Looking forward to playing The Waves.

Sorry Scoontar, I should have give that Surge to Doot or something. I still have it in my trunk. It'll be waiting for you at Waveny as ransom.

Yeah being *stung is no fun.

Thanks for the volunteer offer, we will definitely take you up on it. I think the course can be playable fairly quickly since much work has already been done and since it's only 9 holes (one of which is in the open and consistenly mowed = no work).

The baskets will take no time to install. We already have 3 in the ground and we're waiting until the trees and bees are gone b4 we put the other 6 in.

Do you already have all nine baskets or are you looking for donations?

If/when this course becomes permanent in February, we will probably be looking for donations. But for now I think we are set on baskets. Right Tim?

Instead, please make all donations out to....HELP with WORKING on the course.

We have baskets for the temp course. 8 baskets from Tim and one from Adam.
If this becomes the real thing we will need donations towards permanent baskets.
We will need tons of help with just the every day stuff...I think we have put time in every hole except for 5. We are getting there we just hope the town does thier stuff soon.

We kicked the crap out of Hole 4 today! Still much to do, but at least it finally looks like a fairway...and will be playable once the trees come down.

Next task is working on path to 5 and on 5's fairway.

I might be able to do a little work on Monday. Tim is busy.
I'll be in Hartford all day on Tuesday, but I think Tim is available.

We got a lot of work done this weekend.
Signs are up.
#2 and #4 has been cleaned up.
Path to #5 is complete and initial work on #5 has begun.

Sounds like a plan if I'm done by 4:45. It's our annual OSHA 8-hr refresher, so it might a long day.

Bill, I will be out on hole 5 before 2pm. Just walk down the 9th fairway and yell. The 5th hole is very close to 9. Just down and right from the 9th tee. I will also have my cell phone on (246-0722).
The plan is to clean up 5 and work on path to 6.
Thanks, Tim

Way to go Adam!! That’s good dg karma for all the hard work you’ve been putting in at Waveny Woods.

Thanks “Foreman Tim” for allowing us “workers” to quit early for a round at Cranbury.

Let me know when the town cuts those trees down and I’ll be back to help with the cleanup.

Walked through the course this morning....no luck, nothing cut yet. :(

Hole 5 looks much better, so clean I could eat off the fairway. Great job guys! I spent 20 minutes with the grass whip knocking down the veg.

There is still plenty to do while we are waiting for the trees to come down. I'm going to try to convince Tim to install baskets for #4 and #6. Those greens are isolated and ready for the most part.

Count me in on the clean up or clearing. I spend most of my days around new canaan and as August nears will have a bit of free time to help.

Great Nicholas, we could use all the help we can get.

Looks like it might be August before we can make some more headway at The Wave. I'm traveling all week and Tim sounds like he's got a busy one. We may not get back there until end of week (Thur/Fri).

However, hopefully the town will come thru this week.

So what's up with Waveny? Any baskets? Bee's + Tree's?

Nice phone messages Adam. I was at J-Park, but you never showed.

I will be in NJ for the next few days. I can come to Waveny on Thursday.

Sorry about that Scott, I left Rochester too late and couldn't make it in daylight. Instead decided to check out Oxbow Falls...not a huge fan, but didn't make it to the back nine.
