12 feet long?

I will probably stay 10' on shorter holes and 12 on longer.

Definately the best.

we do try to get them level with the surrounding ground... The best way to get a good base for these (to eliminate frost heaving) is to dig a bowl into the ground and fill it with sand. The sand doesn't retain water like loom does so there is very little expansion/contraction. Good luck with yours.

1-4 at Tully is unplayable until after the river rat race... we've been playing 10-13 twice to make up for it.

11 and soon to be more.. 3 of them will need some planning

some have sunken due to such high waters but will be easily fixed with a little popping of bricks and a regrade.(not the one we did but the ones we paid to have done)go figure.....I will leave that alone or I might really snap...

signs will be updated soon and we will be using a style like wick..no bs.

first project was cleanup, having a welder fix basket 3, now on to the hole 1 kiosk I hear is to be one bad arse looking structure with a lost and found box....

then redesign of hole 8, tees, and punching people who litter in the face

they have money to spend we have hours to volunteer..

win win

cya around

river rat race

Cheef yes it is half drunken rednecks but also host some of the finest paddlers in the world no bs....

but yes its an excuse for the town folk to become beyond wasted and raise hell

I live here and I've never seen it... besides the event isn't "redneck"... standing on the side of the river all day to watch a couple canoes go by, THAT"S redneck

Ditterman: we have 11 in and 7 to go, holes 1,3,4,5,6,7,11,12,14,15 and 18 are all set, we hope to have the last 7 in by the end of this summer. I personally hope we can get 13, 16 and 17 by the tourney but who knows.

well 300 plus paddlers is not just a few.....a shotgun start makes for some interesting viewing..

drinking 46 beers by noon then taking a Neon and giving onlookers a smokeshow while leaving the bar is redneck

About the scratches from yak tracs...not to much visible damage

Bobka can you still get those rolls of rubber matting you use at Barre?

Maybe we can lay a winter mat out.

James the bricks are sweet like Sean said though you must remove as much soil as possible and get to sub-grade....4-8 inches or scratch the surface if hard pan build up with sub-grading compact the crap out of it and build a restraint structure of some sort around raised material to prevent washout then build up around it with a sub-grade then mulch or gravel up to grade of tee so nobody breaks a leg...mulch is bad though because people sad as it is chuck butts and mulch will catch quick on a hot dry summers day...

Don't CROWN them rather pitch them in the waters natural flow....crowning is from poor base installation..I will not get started on the contractor that messed that up..the one we the Tully Club put in is sweet..hole 3 all the remaining ones will be done by club.

We have flooding bad so some this year need to be leveled out but that is just popping bricks and bringing a hand tamp, some rock dust and relaying some bricks not that hard...a pain but simple enough....That is the one downfall but again prep in base is everything.

We still have some work too do around the tees.

Thanks for the tips.

You guys used the small pavers, I might go for 16"x16", I figure less pieces is less tedious. Gotta admit the small pavers look AWESOME, though. We are gonna do the small colorful ones for our tee #1 at minimum.

We have a crapload of ledge in Bristol. Digging is usually a problem, we might have to be elevated a few inches unfortunately. We plan on going 12' on the non-flush pads.

I actually like those better IMO....more coverage of an area=less settling usually....

If we had to do it over again I think most would want the bigger ones and then maybe a design with the smaller ones in center or for a soldier course around the outside of the big ones...

We had to raise many up but actually works better because it makes you level all the area around it and make it nice...stays drier etc etc

well when ya pop the first one in make sure you post some pics

What's the par at Tully? I'm assuming it's a 54 but wasn't sure if 8 or 12 would be 4's or tough 3's. Scored a 52 yesterday while accumulating 4's on 10, 12, and 14 ... felt pretty good just wasn't sure what a good score was there.

Sorry Titan for blowing through your group, I would love to have played with some locals but I got there later than expected and wanted to make the Buff safari league.

No worries Rob we had a 65 year old man, a 12 year old dog, and 2 guys that shoot many extra shots to complete a hole   on that card.....

We took a break at every tee I think....

The course par is 57 holes 8,10, and 12 are par 4's

I bet hole 14 was just from not knowing where the pin was...

Sweeeeeet 2 on 9 yesterday that looked smooth

52 is solid a score

With the 2 extra holes the course par for the Event will be 63

Kovo, That's the actual tee, we just haven't moved the sign yet. We were forced to move it due to the traffic on the rocks. It's too bad to cuz 8-9 USED to be my favorite "1,2 punch". Good for you for playing the old tee for your first time through.

Gotcha...i didn't know if you guys had 2 tees for some holes so we just played from both of them.

It's a fun shot from the "original" tee...love me some anny bombs 8-)

Hole 10 may have been my favorite hole...the birch-lined fairway with trouble off each side.

Hole 1 was fun too.

It's definitely a nice lefty course...glad I made it out there!

When's the best time to find locals for a tour of this course or Flatrock? I'm trying to play every course in the state and would make a day trip of it if I knew someone could show the way. Either that or a good walkthrough or map posted somewhere online.
