Ryan Brunelle wrote:Hate to do it, but I have to bail on the challenge. Unfortunately my father in law has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and I need to do the right thing, cut my weekend short after NEFA finals and be home with my wife/family. I'm really sorry and was really looking forward to beating up on the valley boys. Good luck team panthorn...I know you will prevail.

I call horse hockey, but then again, that's just me. Afterall, we are still in October right NOW. With 2 weekends left.

I think that you should be the last to talk about not being able to do something.
Yes, we had to forfeit the match. Several of us had family stuff come up on that day. I can safely say I speak for the whole team, we are really disappointed we could not go up and check out their sick course and play a good match. A few of our players did manage to drive up that weekend and ended up getting in a car accident.

If panthorn forfeited because they couldn't get enough guys to make the trip there should be a penalty. They commited to the league and just cost Woodland Valley one of only 5 matches played. I hope the commissioner gets involved because a straight forfeit is BS. In my baseball league if a team forfeits twice in a year they are kicked out. That's a 30 game scheduele.
Glad everyone in the accident is ok and truly hope that unfortunate incident was the reason for the no show.

Forfeits suck any time.....but things happen. The teams being located far away from each other, and the home team being available only sundays probably contributed. And yes, it is still October and sometimes matches are even played in the next month if necessary.
I hope everyone involved in the car accident is ok.

Im sick of all your bull [bleep] and needing to add 2 cents on everything you arent involved in. You were the one who left the B pool to Todd and frankly no one gives a [bleep] what you think. Yes we had to forfeit and the main reason to that is because most of our players have a family that they care about. We set the date knowing that only 8 players would be able to make it and one of the players father in law was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. A couple more team members considered families health was a little more important than the challenge so they backed out to help with sick family members. 3 of us made it up there to apologize and show that we really wanted to play. I dont give 2 [bleep] what your team or any others did. You are in the A pool so you can keep your [bleep] to yourself about the B pool. Obviously neither team involved (key word being INVOLVED!) wanted this to happen but it did. On another note dont try to blame your failures on someone else you low life. Be a [bleep] man and take the blame because it was your fault.

The player whose father was sadly diagnosed missed due to obvious good reason. How does that relate to several players suddenly all having health concerns. Why would you set a date with 8? And steve and myself both care because it puts a black eye on the whole league that we are all a part of. A or B pool. Kinda sick of hearing you rant about how you all have families you care about. Are you implying that we don't?
Did you all not have families at the beginning of the season. If not congrats on all your immaculate coneptions!
The the player with the extremely bad news I am very sorry to hear it and my sympathies go out to you.
