As I said in my email I feel that all of what we have discussed thus far is fine with the damn team.

I have had a couple questions concerning parking but I just told my guys to be there early.

As far as the women are concerned I feel they should be required for singles and I feel the penalty should be worst women's score +1 and that team should play only 9 their first round.

As far as food my guys were told to pack a lunch and that was no problem so I think the money should be for the beer/beverages, CTP's, and some towards green's fees since we are taking over the brewery for the whole day :P :drunken:

As far as anything else is concerned I feel that this is going to be a blast at Hylands and the Dam Team is looking forward to playing the course without 24 inches of snow.

My singles are as follows Matt for getting the scorecards ready.....
**Wow sry for the massive confussion but we have had some late minute drops.....
So Singles will be.....
1.Adam Whitten - Captain
2.Alan Maclean - Co-Capitan
3.Bill Mehr
4.Ralph Rogers
5.Luke Adolph
6.Jaybob Johnson
7.Andy Duquette
8.Joe Hamilton
9.Jeff Wiechowski
10. No girl
Unfortunately we will be short out women....

Again thanks for heading things up Matt huge props go out to you

Parking will probably be tight as was already mentioned. To combat that, I have updated the main thread in the TC section to ask for carpooling as much as possible. There really is no excuse since there is a park and ride location right down the street from the course:

http://www.bostonmpo.org/bostonmpo/7_li ... bridge.pdf

send your people the message to carpool from close to your home course, or use the park and ride when they get off rt 84 so that we don't have a [bleep] show with cars.

OK, so it's decided.

10 players in singles, with one mandatory female player. If there is no female player for singles, the team plays 9 players and takes the highest female score +1 stroke.

5 doubles teams for round two. Female is not mando for this round. Doubles scores are double weighted for scoring.

Now that this is decided, please send me the list of your players for singles so I can put together the hole assignments.

Tolland (1-4)

Hole 3:
Borderland (1-4)
Maple Hill (3-2)
West Thompson (3-2)

Since parking is going to be real tight, should we do an incentive in the form of a "most players from a team with the fewest number of cars" award? May be a good way to encourage people to carpool or at least park and ride at that church. When we had our neutral challenge at Hyland we had 4 teams participating and the parking was tight. We need to get 9 teams parked with basically the same number of cars that was used for that challenge.

Would it be possible to just leave our spots blank? I have 3 people who will be game time decisions and I would just be switching them in that day anyway.

Everything else looks great! Thanks Matt-you ARE the best...

Let's get into the Money discussion

Money:
We will have $900 to work with for finals. Let's decide how to spend it.

Thoughts on what to spend the money on:

* Location expenses (greens fees, porta potty, etc)- No greens fees are being charged at Hyland for our event!
* Beer and Alt Bev (including water/ice)- Beer will be $150 for a 1/2 barrel of IPA and a little cheeper for the other styles. What about keeping those kegs cold?

* CTP's (either cash or purchase something with the money)
* Hot scores (Top 3 singles, Top 3 Doubles)

Beer:
$150 * 2 = $300

Alt Bev (ie: water):
$50 (we could probably get gallon jugs of water for $1 each so it wouldn't be the entire $50, but would need to buy some ice probably)

That would leave $550 to spread out over the CTP's and other bounties. We could do 18 ctp's (9 for singles/9 for doubles) that are each worth $25. That would leave $100 for the bounties. We could have $50 each for the best singles/doubles scores on the day. Let's get some more thoughts going here.

I like what you have laid out there about the beverages. Who is taking care of all of that?

Do the 9 ctps each round at 25 each......that gives everyone a good chance at something.
Hot singles round
Hot doubles round

Don't make it any more complicated than it needs to be.

18 ctp's each round would spread it out more, Don't pay hot rounds at all.

Could do long drive, 2 shot ctp on some of the longer holes. I'm fine with whatever we end up deciding.

I do thinkk the best scores of the day should get something though.

Me too, I just want the newer teams to have a shot at the $$. If they are all long drive, score related, it really hurts a few teams. We all have some bombers on our rosters but that isn't the case on some teams.

The payout for hot rounds could be nominal, $20 single and $30 double, and that would leave plenty of money for ctp's and other prizes.

Okay, I need clarification. Are we playing 12 in dubs and just using the top 5 scores?

I thought we were doing 10 each round. If we do 12 for doubles, it would make for sixsomes. If we do 10 per, it would be some 4somes and some 6somes.

Yeah, we may not have finalized that portion of it. I'm OK with 6somes for doubles, counting the top 5 scores per team.

My thought would be no. Some of my top players would probably do better playing cali than playing in a doubles team. That is just one man's thought on the matter, so don't take it as bond. Let others weigh in on it as well.

Having some 6 somes and some 4 somes makes no sense Shaun. It won't be any faster or slower to have the extra few players will it?

I agree that it will slow things down. 4somes play 10 min per hole, 6somes play 15 min per hole. That's an added 90 minutes to the round.

This may sound dumb but... wouldn't those 4-somes just be waiting for the 6-somes in front of them? I would love to get 2 more players playing. I'll live with whatever is decided though.

Yeah, pretty much. Either way will be slow because the fastest group will always be slowed up by the slowest. We should have plenty of daylight to get the second round in even with 6somes.

The breakdown was for $50 each hot round. Your breakdown will only free up $50.

We are doing 18 CTP's. 9 for each round to give all teams multiple chances to get the ctp. Obviously, we will need to discuss which holes, but I think it would make the most sense to do them on holes that can be reached by a majority of the teams out there for singles. Then switch it up and do a little bit harder holes during the doubles round. I think we need to have a consenses on this before we decide anything.

We also need to decide the beer factor. It was $150 per barrel. I think two kegs should be plenty. If people need more beer, byob or purchase a growler at the brewery. Two barrells will still leave a majority of the money to be paid out to teams.

Here's 1 vote in favor of 6 dubs teams per team with 5 counting for score.
