Forcing to okay in singles doesn't give any benefit though. 9/10 matches will result in a L for the woman, so no disadvantage for not bringing your woman. It forces the captain to hang onto the woman during the matchups, so they can try and get a matchup against a weak opponent. That is another advantage for the team not bringing the woman.

Giving the point and not playing the woman is the only situation that gives the team that brought their woman an advantage.
