A little bit of NEFA history for you. I moved to MA in 1999 and started playing the NEFA circuit. After the 2000 season I noted that the NEFA standings were a bit meaningless because there were no finals. I tactfully approached our then NEFA president Jason Southwick and asked him why everyone was collecting NEFA points. He thought about it and agreed it was stoopid. BOOM, NEFA finals were born. The original match play NEFA finals were WAAAAY cooler than they are now but that is besides the point.

Change takes time and there are a lot of issues to deal with. If the NEFA president's (and BOD's) biggest concern was the finals or even competition in general, NEFA would be failing to meet its mission statement.

ok, now we are getting somewhere...finally a great post..ya can't just assume we all know these things..as there is no nefa history section just have to read millions of post..I have never read that before..!

So again back to the original "point" of Finals..shouldn't it mean something..it has been 10 years should of it not evolved to something bigger?

I agree match play awesome

yes match play was awsome, except on day two when half the losing players hightailed it out of town leaving the remaining bottom end players with no opponent for their match. This was a great way for someone to end their weekend of play after a 150 mile drive,..hotel stay, etc....

Titan, it is not NEFA's responsibility to teach you about the history of NEFA evolution.

When will you stop? You have been doing this for three years. You continue to say you have all of these people that urge you to continue to press on, but yet I have seen eveidence of only 1 or 2 ppl in 3 years. Whether these ppl are there or not is fine. The answer doesn't matter to me. Many peeople have asked you to "stand down" on the discussion board, but you don't. You type even longer posts, in a slightly less aggresive manner, seemingly trying to coax in relavent and civil conversation. Eventually this flies out of control each time.

So I ask you. When will you stop? What would it take to get you to stop?

Please, please,...stop.

Matt,

Again, the issue has never been about the number of players the finals was limited to. It was about the manner that information was disseminated.

Why is this funny?

This is the post that got me a thread dedicated to my name. I was asked to explain why I didnt feel like the current administration was doing a good job.

I think Rob Tatro is as bad as Steve Solbo was as president..worse in some cases...cause I know a few who were really betting on him to make a big difference. I understand bad stuff happened..all that jazz. I saw him at one tourney this year. Would have expected to see him schmoozing with potential members, but I did not see anything like that happen. It was absentee volunteerism all year. Ill probably get blasted for that..but its genuinely how I feel.

Dano...I dont even know what he did for the series this year. Put on a great tourney at Amesbury though. It ticks me off that he doesnt read the forums..even the "points series issues" and he requires direct contact OUTSIDE of NEFA. Its not what you would expect from the points series chair.

I dont even want to get started on DM.

Is that bashing? Maybe. I didnt strike out at anyone personally. Maybe could have used a bit more tact..but it really deserved a whole thread titled with my name and dedicated to bashing me? Espcially since I followed it up with..

As for Robs busy life..I get that. I really honestly understand that. I also try to believe that he has NEFAs best interest at heart...and I understand a good deal of the legal issue. Up until this last post at Titan, I believed he was a pretty stand up honest guy. Kinda seems like a snake to me now.

My position is, and has been, that a responsible volunteer would have stepped aside..would have said "this is more than I can handle" and passed the wheel. That is what I mean by absentee volunteerism. Hes holding the position with no real ability to man it. It wouldnt make him any less of a pres if he had stepped aside.

Then I catch a piece of the blame for why Rob is quitting. Im not going to go post them, but you should look back and read some of the comments Rob made...yet Im the big meanie who made the nice man quit...even though he made the decision "several months ago".

Thats why its funny Jeff.

WOW!!!!!!! Theres nothing like a bunch of mature men arguing like a group of 3rd graders at recess. Why cant we just drop this whole thing ? I dont see it getting any better with the way its going. It seems as if it all started with how many people get invited to finals, you know what if you want to get into finals and you didnt then doesnt that make you just want to play better next year so you can ? Seems simple less B*TCHING and more practicing

I was pretty disappointed to see advanced women go from 6 invites last year to 3 this year, but in stead of whining about it at home, Ill be there anyways to watch it all go down.
