I agree with you Charlie, def two of my favorites. The perpetual and flower power are both very solid.. I tried the double pale ale at BBW last night and it was really good, im not sure why they call it a double pale because its really a dipa..

Greg Aucoin wrote:Super-impressed by what Wormtown Brewery out of Worcester, MA is doing. Their hoppy beers (Be Hoppy IPA, Be Hoppier IPA, and Birthday Brew Double IPA) are better than ever, always being tweaked and extra dry-hopped for aroma and flavor for us hopheads. They just started bottling their beers, and Be Hoppy batches that were bottled were extra dry-hopped, so they'll have a longer, hoppier shelf life :D . If you see it in local package stores this month, it'll be the freshest, tastiest IPA you can buy.

What stores around Worcester are selling these? I tried the Be Hoppy IPA at Peppercorns a while back and it was awesome.
A friend of mine found Wormtown Hopulence at Ted's in Charlton recently and said it was delish. Haven't tried it myself yet.

You can buy everything they bottle in bombers at Wormtown/Peppercorn's.
I can't imagine there isn't a beer store in Worcester that doesn't have their stuff for sale.
They do a really good job with getting in everywhere.

Mongo good!

Have an extremely rare one coming my way on Friday: Striuse Rio Reserva (collaboration with Ryohei Sugawara San from Rio Brewing Co.)

Belgian Quad that begain it's brewing in 2008. Aged for a year in wine oak barrels, then a second barrell aging in Kentucky bourbon barrells and finally bottled in May 2012. :drunken:

Only 2 reviews on BA, and 99% of all other reviews are from Europe.

I've heard good things about it but have never been. I can't say i'm a big Belgian beer fan, but this one was too unique to pass up.

Don't settle for a clone, go to Chicago/Indiana and try some of the genuine article. Some of their stuff is quite overrated (Dreadnaught), but ZD is their best. Its a lot like Edward from Hill Farmstead, which is much closer.

Ive heard great things about Hill Farmstead. Gonna try to get up there soon.

I love Heady Topper and all but its kinda weak that you cant appreciate it in a glass as well.
Has anyone tried pouring it into a glass? pretty gross.

Lots og good stuff coming outta Vermont though. Must be the water.

Dome, bring some of that clone to Animal Fest! I would love to try it!
I'll have a Chocolate Porter and a yummy IPA with 8 different hops on tap for you to try.

To fulfill a work bet regarding the Cowboys-Giants, picked up two bottles of Rogue's Voodoo Donut Maple Bacon Ale. My co-worker liked it, I drank half a glass and was done. Great flavors and aroma, but a terrible mouth feel, and absolutely zero carbonation or alcohol taste.

On the other hand is Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp ... Oatmeal stout is probably in my personal top five types of beers, and this one is one of the very best ... ranks right up there with any Sam Smith I've had.

One of the best. I follow all this craft Brew business news. Craft is growing a 11% plus per year. Goose Island Sold to Budweiser (Inbev) in 2011 for $ 38 million. The owners of Goose Island received $ 22.5 Million and the other minority owner "Craft Brew Alliance" received $ 16.3 Million. Craft Brew Alliance trades under ticker BREW. I own shares for fun. Boston Beer Company (SAM) has been a a true American growth story, facing some headwinds now though.

I just found Shed Mountain Ale, now brewed by Otter Creek in 6 packs, at Mass Liquors on Chandler St. Worcester. Yankee Spirits also has it. All you Vermonters obviously know what it is, as well as anybody who has spent any time in Stowe. Not sure it's as good as it was on tap or from growlers, but it is still very tasty.
