Gravy and cheese curds, Matt. And I'll have yours. Poutine is my favorite thing about Canada. Well, that and Rue Ste. Catherine Ouest. :D

Looked it up and it looks like you are right. The fries are fried in Lard, not served with it. I would give that a try... the gravy and cheese, not the lard.

Tell us how you really feel about Kaberle. :)

Honestly, I applauded the trade at the time it happened. Thought he'd be a great addition to the blue line and to the PP. I don't know what happened since then, but at this point I'd rather see a cardboard cut-out of Bobby Orr propped up out on the ice.

That being said, I'd love to see Eric's prediction come through, and have him net one.

And okay, I'll make a prediction... 2-1 Bruins. Lucic scores early, Kesler ties it up with a PP goal... and Chara wins it with a 105 mph backscratcher high glove side at 18:58 of the 3rd period.

Ok,

Fast forward 8 hours, most of us are sh*tfaced, some of us are royally pissed because Mumbles Menino put in the same rules as game 6 for the C's in 2007...

(Bars: black out windows, enforce the "once you're in, you're in" policy, stop entries way to early, stop serving WAY to early, and have barracades directing all Garden-centered bar foot traffic away from the Garden post-game)

... drunks are either super pumped or super pissed, and there's one dumb SoB that parks their rental car w/ Canadian license plates near Gov't Center ---> where all that drunk foot traffic is heading.
4/20/11, Ace #2, Devens - Hole 18. You just read that.

Bars are allowed to serve right up till their liquor license says. Menino can't do [bleep] about that.

Yes, I am being a homer, but realistically, the only team that played well wire to wire this year was the Canucks, the Sharks look dangerous, but any team with Joe Thornton will underachieve and choke.

The B's are also built for a deep run. Good defense, very physical and a goal tender that can single handedly take over games.

Congrats to the Bruins on a great series and convincing game 7 win.

They were certainly the better team this series and are deserving cup winners.

Can someone quote this for me so LaGrassa gets to see it and see how stupid his tag line is.

Bruins: 1 Stanley Cup in 2011.
Penguins: Haven't done jack schitt since 2009.

Steve Solbo wrote:Horton will be in the building for Game 7! That is great news! His prescence could vault the emotion over the top for the B's. It would be awesome to see Savvy make the trip as well, but I doubt it.

Notes and Prediction:

1. The goalie curse: Not since 1974 has a goalie wearing the #1 won a Stanley Cup. Bernie Parent did it for Philly in 1975 against the B's. Tables turned now this time.

2. Physical Play: You have to think that the longer this series went, the B's would get the edge, they are much more physical and it has to be wearing on Vancouver, not only are they losing bodies left and right, but players that are playing, aren't as effective as they were in previous series, (see Ryan Kessler).

3. Tim Thomas: Hasn't allowed more than 3 goals in 7 games straight, is 9-0 when he faces 37 shots or more. I think the Canucks will shoot often, as they have so far in this series, but that just seems to get Timmy going..

4. Home Ice?: The B's have bested the Canucks on their ice (regular season) and have played much better than the Canucks on the road, the argument can be made that the B's could have won all 6 games to this point, Vancouver can't even come close to saying that much.

Prediction: The way the season started in Vancouver, the B's take it. 3-1.

Got the number of goals right, but just didn't distribute them right... also, how many saves Timmmay have last night? Oh yeah, 37... 10-0 this year in the playoffs when facing 37 or more shots, that's a staggering record when facing that many shots.

Mike Murphy, you are condoning the behavior of someone with a psyche that he actually continues to address someone who he who knows has him on Ignore / Foe. So you are now on Ignore / Foe too, and anyone who quotes Solbo's posts directed towards me gets the same treatment. If I have to ignore practically the entire NEFA message board, then so be it.
I have no tolerance in my world for a certifiable nutjob, and have made the decision to entirely eliminate his venom which has made for an extremely enjoyable NEFA DISCussion Board experience in 2011. It would be appreciated if people could respect that. Thank you. :thumleft:

Hey LaGrassa, put this in your pipe and smoke it.

The City of Pittsburgh: 3 Major Sports Titles since 2001.
The City of Boston: 7 Major Sports Titles in 2001.

Who's the "City of Champions" now?

Timmy Thomas wins his second Vezina to go along with his Conn Smyth. What a year.

I have to admit that I was doubting Thomas was the man. I am happy that he proved me wrong. If he can stay healthy, I think he has another 3-4 years in him. What do you do with TuuKKa?

Will the team fall apart like the 'Hawks after these guys all demand more money now that they are SC champions?

How many more days until hockey starts? It will be a really long time if there is no football.

They'll keep em both. I say 2 more years with Timmay MAX. He is 37 afterall, but heck, Roloson had a pretty good playoff eventhough he was 41....

They won't fall apart, b/c unlike the Hawks they have spent wisely. Their core is mostly signed long term to managable deals. You'd have to think Savard is coming off the books, the money is guarenteed, If I were him, I would just quit, the next hit could leave him in a vegetable state.

The only guy that realistically could "demand" more money, is Marchand, he's an RFA, at the least they'll go into arbitration with him.... I expect him to get a deal somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.25-3.5 Mill per year.

Then you gotta make decisions on Ryder and Kaberle... I think Ryder will be gone.. I don't think he'll take a discount and some team out there will pay for his nice ability to finish, although it's very inconsistent. I think you may see Kaberle back... Of course, it won't be at the 4 Mil he made last year. I think they can go two ways with him. If he truly wants to come back, and at a discount, I think the B's will entertain that, as long as it's like 2.5 Mil per year over 3 years or so. The other option the B's have is to say, "Listen Thomas, you were looking at 4 Mil on the open market before the trade. You totally sucked until we had about 2 games left in the Stanley Cup Finals. How bout we give you (1) year, $2.0 Million, you get another shot to win the Cup, get a full training camp and full season with the team and we meet at the end of the year again... to re-assess."

This team of course has needs to fill, like every other team, however, the holes are small and you are talking about a team who's core is young and locked up for a while. Plus, you got promising guys like Caron, Kampfer, Bartkowski, Seguin an incoming top 10 pick, I am hearing Ryan Murphy, who they compare to a smaller Mike Green at Defense.

The B's are in real good shape. Possibly have $10 mil to spend on the cap... take out the raise for Marchand and potentially resign Ryder and Kaberle, they still likely have about $4 mil to spend on a Free Agent.

I would love Leino or a Fleischmann, to add a little more depth at the wing, if Ryder leaves.
