Just a reminder our challenge is this Sunday. How does a 10:00 tee-off sound?

That sounds like a good plan to me. I think Charis and I will make a pot or two of chili for lunch if anyone wants to whip something else up or bring a grill to make food that would be cool too.

Reminder to both teams that we will have to park at the school and start on hole 8 since the gate is closed. And you should probably be on your best behavior while on school grounds or you might get sent to the principals office.

Team Wick and Team Tolland members are invited to an after challenge party / shindig at our (Erica's) place in Vernon...about 12 mins from the course....

Wick members can have some victory beverages and Team Tolland can drown their sorrows in some beer.....or toilet water whatever you prefer...we should have plenty of both

shoot me a pm if interested so I can plan accordingly....I plan on making some of my famous Jambalaya either to eat at the course or afterwards....

BAH!!! I gotta drop and won't be able to make it to Tolland on Sunday - I just picked up a bunch of equipment for my classroom and portfolio project. I was hoping to bring in the stuff today and the building is closed and alarmed due to storm and is gonna be closed Saturday leaving Sunday when they open up for Rec programs...

Oh well...it sucks when life gets in the way of fun...

tees are clear and in good shape thanks to Pat Barnett. Wick is in for a battle tomorrow. Snow is deep and conditions are tough. We even put some extra trees up especially for tomorrow.

And you should see Craig's scores for the day.......

I'm torched right now but I'll be fine for tomorrow.

We had quite the marathon first round that went 9:30am to 1:30pm. Mandatory spotters made for a lot of extra walking and time. Then me and Fissel had a playoff in the end....in the dark.......finish time 6:30pm

I finally tried my idea for using a cooler as my golf bag/portable chair for snow rounds. I liked it. No nasty wet golf bag to bring home and stink up the place, just me.

Mike Sax is in town and I think he is gonna play since we are a bit short. The roster isn't full so it is within the rules that he plays right?

Team Tolland thanks for hosting a great day of golf in the snow filled woods. It did seem like you guys put more trees in since the last time I played there.

The tee pads were snow and ice free, muchos gracias to all who spent the time clearing them  :salut:  :salut:

Singles:

Wintrob over Barnnett 2-1 (w)
Jesse over SP3 2-1(w)
Jack over Mullen 5-4 (w)
Chip over Alto 2-1 (w)
Steve G over Clayton 1-0 (t)
Smith over J Bayer 4-2? (t)
Pj Dan over Zak 6-5 (w)

wick 5 t-land 2

Doubles:

Pj Dan/Big Nic over Smith/Mullen 54-55 (w)
Zak/Alto over Clayton/Ditterman 58-58 (won 1st playoff hole) (t)
Wintrob/Jesse over Steve G/Steve G 46 (new course record)-63 (w)

Lane/Chip ???????????? Pat/SP3 or Pat/SP3 ???????Lane/Chip ?-? (?)

I left before the last match came in.

So team wick won either 9-6 or 11-4.

Team Tolland nice job playing on your home course!

Me and Claydog were either 6-5 or 5-4 for the record.

You're going to have to throw me an AM2 player before I can entertain the possibility of blanking someone for 18 holes.

Thanks to Jay for doing the lunch run for everyone!
That gave me more time to dry out for round 2. Speaking of which, Jesse and Gregg could have easily shaved another couple of strokes off that score with a few more putts going in.

I did manage to squeeze a few more birdies out of my tired wing but never had the box after hole one. I hope everyone enjoyed Gregg and Jesse's "snow graffiti" that was left for the viewing pleasure of all the groups following us.

Thanks to Ditterman and Beeeg Neeek for spotting everyone in the first round, sorry the rest of our Tolland bums couldn't show.

Steve G

1-0 means you were a head of Clayton by one stroke with zero holes to play.

Nice shooting out there yesterday during the first round. After what you went thru on Sat. at Krisco, I'm amazed you were able to make it thru the full challenge. I guess you're in a lot better shape at 40 + then Sax Mike and Smol-bag (who are in their late 20's early 30's?0

Dittah,

Banana Heads over Lane/Chip 1-0

Best showing of the season for Tolland so far! Always nice to play with friends like Team Wick. Boy, it really helps when you know the ability level of everyone on the opposing team!

So I believe it was a 9-6 final for Wick.

Did you guys play stroke or match?

Nice shooting yesterday. The trees of Tolland can jump up and bite you if you're not careful. Away teams best beware, Team Tolland is strong at home!

See you guys at the finale, good luck on your March challenge!

Sorry Ditter,

It was stroke play but it was so close it felt like match play. I can't remember what the scores were exactly but we had them by a stroke at the end.
