I lost an bright green/yellow Discraft XL Pro to the right of hole 13 around pin-high yesterday - and of course I hadn't put my name on it yet ... Let me know if you find it. Nice work updating the course this summer everyone ... best course closest to the Berkshires by leaps and bounds.

We're having a workday on April 14, followed by at least one round of play. You're welcome to join us. There will be different crews doing tee pad gravel operations, trail maintenance, and thorn removal.

The course faces new challenges this year, as more and more dog-walkers come to the place, and public access comes to a head. As you may recall, this is permanently protected agricultural land, state owned and and self policed. My understanding is that we are appreciated because we designed the course so thoughtfully in relation to the land and avoiding conflict with other users. However, they are discussing the plan for the area and it may involve leasing out some of the agricultural land (fields) which may infringe on certain uses if seriously farmed. Holes 13 and 14, the big open field holes, may need to be changed eventually. The dog-walkers have discovered that the fairways for these holes are a cut through, we can't mow the fields at certain times of year, and increased agricultural use may place further limits on our use of this area.

We're thinking of altering hole #1 to reduce conflict with the dog walkers.
Smith Voc will not be loaning us equipment for a while...hopefully that'll change.

played here for the first time yesterday, sneakin in two rounds. it has a pretty nice layout, with short and long wooded holes with cool pin placements in some pretty sketchy places, makes for interesting shots. and some more open holes to help diversify the course. def had a blast. recommended to all. :thumleft:

Is there a weekday league there? I will be working on a big job at the holyoke mall for a few weeks and wont be able to make it to Buff in time for that league.

Yes, on Monday nights at 5:00 sharp. We are trying to coordinate mowing, sorry about the inconvenience. Apparently league skipped 13 and 14 this past Monday.

At least 20 people on the course today (Sun 10/21) between 2-4pm. It was a great day to be out. Thanks for keeping it trimmed.

The time has come to resume some crazy Saturday action at North Hampton's Insane course...

League will be held at 10:00 this year...the cost will be $5/$7
$5 to payout weekly winners and and an optional $2 to the ace pot
....the format will be random draw doubles...

It's like a dream come true: Nonotuck Disc Golf Club had its first meeting on Saturday afternoon. Many of the club members were there: Andy Neal, Dan Hall, Jason Johnson, Juano Flores, Mark Siegert, and yours truly.

We basically agreed to meet again and work on the finances, and possibly scale back on some of the loaned equipment.

The club owns 13 baskets and some tee pads, though we're trying to work out the details so that we all know where we stand.

My suggestion: Next meeting ASAP and discuss our goals, mission statement.

The Nonotuck Disc Golf Club has grown beyond the ar$e-kicking doubles partnership of FH and JJ, Hollyfrickinlooya.

Hazardous conditions holes 1-5. Recommend starting on hole 6. Dude at league Saturday survived a head wound which occurred on hole one whilst retrieving disc in dingle.

Nonotuck Disc Golf Club had its second meeting yesterday. Jason Johnson, Juano Flores, and Mark Harpo Siegert (Dudes, correct me if I'm wrong on the spelling of your names). We agreed to meet again on the first Monday of every month after league, most likely at the Northampton Brewery.

It seems to me that we also agreed that the Club is willing to take ownership of one(1) tee pad per hole at this time. Of course the club already owns some of the tee pads on the course, but the exact details need to be resolved. I believe we agreed to resolve these ownership issues ASAP.

Draft goals are: insure the long term integrity of the course by doing tee pad and pin installations thoughtfully and as a positive contribution to this public conservation area.

Played the course this morning in the incredible humidity and heat.

I shot a 65 after two lost disc penalties. First time playing the course, so I'm curious to know what's the average par for everyone.

My impression of the course is pretty good. Tees were not bad at all, easy to find the next hole, and it was very clean.

After the first 9 holes or so I was thinking that there needed to be some bigger holes. Everything up to that point was mostly under 350. Then I got hole 13. Jesus Christ! 720 feet! I took a 5 on it after I hit cage on my four putt.

Lost a disc on 14, the fields aren't very well mowed, but I'd imagine thats a huge chore and really can't blame anyone for that.

Good mix in distances from 120' chip shots to the 720' bomb.

My one complaint is that almost all the holes were essential straight shots with a slight bend to the right at the end. IMO there needs to be a few more doglegs and turns on some of the holes for change.

Great course overall though and I plan on playing it again the next time I'm visiting my buddy in Northampton!!

Thanks for the feedback. I would add that the course is horrendously overgrown. The course is in the process of evolving, we're chipping away at (I wish I had a chipper) alternate holes 13 and 14 for seasonal play.

Come back again, I'll look for your discs - I hope they're marked.

Yeah the course has been mowed recently. You should still use a spotter on holes 5, 8, and in general the rough is pretty rough, bugs are bad.
