Some really REALLY LAME calls on Detroit for San Jose players taking dives.........

I am personally not worried about the lose of Sturm, especially for this series. He has not done crap in a long time and the Bs need the physical game that Shawn Thornton will bring to the table against the Flyers.
I guess it is good I am not the coach though since I would have sat Begin in favor of Thornton and he is the guy that got the Bs going.

If you count the "even up" calls (like SJ's last penalty) I might be inclined to say that Detroit had an extra (unnecessary) 2 penalties called but the bottom line is that they took 10 total on the game including too many men on the ice in the final 2 minutes of regulation while they were trying to pull Howard for a 6th skater. Over and over again they had the puck stolen and dropped back into the Detroit end to finish off the game.
Yeah diving sucks and it happens but I wouldn't lay the blame for this L on the 3rd period penalty-fest. The failure to score more than one goal in the second, when Detroit had all the momentum, ultimately screwed them IMO. If they went into the 3rd with a two goal lead they would have won.

We'll see if the home crowd can fire them back up and focus them.
Personally, I'm starting to think that this series might just be "who gets to lose to the Canucks" in the conference finals but that's just my pessimistic opinion du jour.
Bruins up 2-0, taking care of business against Philly like they should be. Hopefully this team stays hungry, gets at least 1 win, if not sweeps on the road, and PIT/MON goes 7 tough games.
Last year's heartbreaking loss to CAR should be driving these guys to finish off series while they have the momentum - keep it up B's!!
Stick your finger in a mouse's mouth and it is going to bite you. Savard is just a wee little mouse. One with a lot of talent, but still a wee little man. I think it is hilarious that Philly's best player is standing behind the integrity of the Bruins rather than his own POS teammate.
I hope that Thornton beats the snot out of Puscillo on Wednesday.

Referring to Richards' comment??? That was awesome.

Yes, I should have said best offensive player. Their best player is Pronger the cheap shot master. He probably taught Carcillo that move.
Killer B's are taking care of business...now let's watch the Pens do the same tonight up in the Great White North. Pens were undefeated on the road last series and are only 2-3 at the Igloo this playoffs, wtf! I'm hoping the Halak of game 1 shows up and not the Halak from game 2 and the Caps series...
Every player on the flyers is a POS. Biggest bunch of POS players in the league. Divers, biters, cheap shoters...Seriously, not one honest, hard working player on the team. I hate philly...

Tell us how you really feel Ryan. Does your well informed hockey wife feel the same way?
I personally agree with you.
Bruins should roll over the Flyers from here. Bring on the next opponent. Hopefully it will be Montreal. That is a better match up for the Bs without their full defensive squad.
hush HATERS! just because Muffalo underachieved and the Badgers got hosed by BC doesn't mean the Flyers are a bad team. Hate Philly all you want. Still got more cups than Buffalo last I checked Can't we all just hate on Montreal.

Yeah...we've always been philly haters. For as long as I remember the team has always been stacked with dirtbag punks. Maybe they can play and probably have more cups that buffalo, but at least buffalo is a respected team. Every year philly picks up a new dirtbag (um..pronger = dirtiest player of all time). Just no respect for this team. And when briere beat feet from buffalo to head to philly for his fat contract, it sort of sealed the deal for us. How'd that work out for you buddy...spent half of the last few seasons on IR...HA.
Sadly, I think I want pittsburgh to win (again). And I'm a BIIIG crosby hater.

Pretty cool that the most hated teams (Flyers and Habs) are part of the mix, but it will be the Pens standing in the way of Stanley Finals. It would be so great to have an Original 6 Showdown all the way (Habs then Hawks is my hope). In the meantime, I am seriously hoping for at least one Thornton-Carcillo smack-down, followed by a few Matt Cooke encounters. Savvy is too whiney for rough stuff, but you have to love his bite.
That was a pretty exciting game last night between the Sharks and Red Wings. Nice to see the Sharks will be moving on to the conference finals. They have a great team (and have for several years), it is good to seem them finally make it over the hump.
If I was a betting man, I would bet on Philly stealing one from the Bs tonight. I hope I am wrong because the Bs need to finish this series so they can get some rest.
Yeah Matt, who is this team?? 6 straight playoff wins? They've only won once in the playoffs while trailing by two goals in the third before last night. Never seen anything like this streak before and I've been a fan since those painful first two seasons at the Cow Palace in SF. They were just tossing the puck into the other team's zone and praying for miracles or huge mistakes back then.
After going down 2-1 to the Avs I was expecting more of the usual disappointment but this is starting to look pretty special. We'll see what happens.
3-0! Rask was outstanding, and will need to keep playing at this level for the B's to beat the Pens and Sharks (if they play those 2 teams).
Satan is looking like a smarter pickup every game, Recchi keeps finding the net, and even Blake Wheeler scored a goal! I'd love to see the B's finish it off Friday with a similar performance.
Another fine performance by the Bs. Doug could be right in that it is time to give last year's Vezina winner a crack between the pipes. Even if he loses the Flyers would need to win 3 out of 3 against Rask, twice on home ice.
I am more concerned about potentially losing Krejci than I was Sturm.
gregaucoin wrote: Satan is looking like a smarter pickup every game,
Satan was a brilliant player back when he was with the sabres. One of my favorite players all time. But he got very lazy (similar to what vanek is doing now with the sabres) and buffalo finally gave up on him. I would love to see him re-energize his career. Just not with the bruins
I turned the game on late last night...what happended to Krejci?

He took a hard hit from Richards at center ice. It looked more like a shoulder/upper body than a "wrist" injury.
Losing him would be rough...he's centered the most productive line for the B's in the playoffs. Only solice I have in him being out is that Sbotka goes back to his natural position at center.
B's got banged up pretty bad last night...they need to get Stuart back to sure up the D.
We all know the team can hang in there w/o their offensive firepower (regular season w/o Savard). Losing Krejci would be a blow, but Savard is also getting more and more into it every minute he's on the ice.
