Do you have any plans for an alternate basket on hole 18, I believe. We did not have the opportunity to play the hole because of all the cars that were in the parking area.

You talking about 10 Joe? The one in the fenced in area after you cross street?

Yeah. Routin' tootin's making a new hole 10 after current 9 through the woods, leading back out to the parking lot. Less of a walk and no cars to worry about. Lengthy New England woods hole. Love it. So I'm pretty sure that #10 as is now with the potential for cars will be no longer.
See it. Be it.

You got it Jeni and Bear. I believe Joe was talking about ten, there would be no cars parking by 18. The new hole ten is almost done. I have to clear a 40' x 80' section of thorn bushes to get from the fairway to the green. Burtt built a bridge to get across the stream and that is already in place. I have been collecting materials to built a platform T box. It should end up being around 420' through the woods, but it will be a fairly open fairway with just a few big pines. Just in case you come up short or long the second shot will have two gaps to get to the green.
As soon as I get my chainsaw back from the shop I will be doing some more cutting on other holes to make them better. Starting with 12.

We will be rolling through right around 12. If we get there early, Sandy and I are both members so we can play for free correct?

Yes you guys play for free. You guys may be the first to play the new hole 10. Let me know when you guys get there. I should still be there doing some final touches on 10 and taking down the 3 trees on 12 that make that hole a poke and hope.

Hey Don...we are looking into potential courses to play at for our neutral challenge in December and I got some questions for ya.

How is this course coming along?
Is the Brewery hopping on Saturday nights?
Are there some good/cheap places to stay?
How far are you from Warwick?
Can we get a discount if we bring 25-30 people?

Thanks!

The course is in pretty good shape. T boxes are a mix of natural and mats. A new hole 10 is so close to completion, it will be done by December. Our team Maple Hill has a challenge there on the 11th. If it snows I will make sure the T boxes are in good shape.

The brewery does pretty good on Saturday nights. They are only open until 8pm, but I can request they stay open later. Luckily I have got the owner playing disc golf now and he is will to support it in any way. The owner likes live music also, so you could play if you want to.

There are a couple of motels and a Comfort Inn 2 miles down the road from Hyland. What the rates are I am not sure. Then there are a lot to choose from in the rest of the town. Hyland is in the historic town of Sturbridge that gets a lot of tourists. Even though it is the off season, the surrounding town may be a little cheaper.

Hyland is 3 hours from Warwick.

There would be no greens fee for team challenge.

Im trying to get a practice session in Don, any way we can get some members together so we can tour/play the course?

Bear Dunn? Other guys/gals. I don't know how many I have as of yet. But we'll ensure to have enough members present with us. Thanks.

Just post when you will be there, I am sure someone will show up. As long as you have someone to show you the way you'll be all set.
I opened the course up for the month of December to the public anyway. That way more people can check it out and maybe generate more members.
There is one thing though! Playing the course just once will give you guys a slight advantage over Captain.

Have the permanent tags been handed out for the lifetime members? I never received mine. I received a temporary tag but that one did not last long.

Hole ten is now moved. When finishing hole 9 walk to the left and you will see the T box. So much better than walking to the old hole 10. Some of us will be sad to see it go ,but it is the way courses get better. Now it is 451' through the woods to the right and the basket is in the parking lot field. The big pine trees line the right side of the fairway. Around 375' there is a stone wall. Over that wall is OB until the other side of the stream at 418'. It will be marked with a line. The line is 33' away fro the basket at the furthest piont. So crush it or lay it up. Please use the opening in the wall to the right and cross the bridge that Burtt built.
