The town hasn't gotten back to me on what date they want to start installation. Last time I checked the park, there were still timbers and equipment in the parking area.

Timbers gone, parking lot is graded. Parking lot just needs to be rolled now. I installed two sleeves but a little slow going with no equipment and nothing to haul the stuff out to the holes. I will check with the town on Monday to see about getting some equipment. Anyone that's available to help install, I will be working on the course Sat through Tues.

Awesome news! I wish I had time to give a hand. Keep us updated with the progress and times you still need volunteers.

Is this course playable? Drove down yesterday and there were signs saying park closed.

somewhat playable. Need to get some brush hogging done so it is easier to get around. Some of the holes have a lot of overgrowth and we need to cut a few paths between the holes. Also need some signs and directions. I doubt anyone could find their way around right now without me showing them.

wow, the skidder did a nice job on a lot of the greens and fairways. i was lopping for 4 hrs today, got a little path from 3 to 4 to the right of the basket. i have some thoughts for you on 6 and 7. 12 is looking much better, just need to get a pole saw down there. found my lost disc on 13. 14 is officially playable and i chained out on the maiden throw, could have been my first ace.

. 15 is gonna be a tough to find a tee placement but i had an idea. im really liking 18 and i think you could pull the tee back even farther. cant wait for the tee pads. thanks for taking the time to put this all together Mike.

I'll be back out there tomorrow (noon to 4pm) to work on the back 9. I had to leave early on Tuesday so I didn't see how far they got with the fairways on the front nine. I left after 5 was done.
I was going to create a walkway straight from 3 to 4, so thanks for taking care of it.

Baskets now have numbers on them. I marked some trees with pink dots to show where next tee is. Hole 15 is not really walkable yet. Basket #14 was just stolen.

Found basket 14. It was pulled out of the ground with some chains and dragged a ways and tossed in the woods. Top is badly bent. I put it back in the hole but didn't have a shovel with me to get it in deep enough.

I will be working on the course this Friday if anyone is available to test holes and clear brush (bring loppers or other brush cutting tools).

Would've come and helped if I could. Hows the course coming along? Do you think it will be finished and playable this year, Mike?

baskets are in and it's playable. Tee boxes are waiting for installation. Probably install tee boxes early Nov. I'm in the process of changing hole 7 so that it no longer crosses hole 8, so that hole is a work in progress right now.

Played this morning with a couple friends. The course is great so far. Bigger and more open than I thought it would be for the most part. We got confused heading to hole 10 because the 10 looks like a 16 so we skipped it originally.
How many par 4s are there and which ones are they?

Here's a picture with numbers on it. I'm in the process of changing hole 7 so it doesn't cross fairway 8. Not sure on pars. I'm waiting to measure the holes and see what the distances are.

You picked the wrong day for us brother. The CT work crew will be at Buffumville. Lets plan a day and we can have a machine, shovels, rakes, bodies and beer there ...we will knock that thing out with you.

Two thumbs up to Mike Oatley and crew for creating a top notch course. Played there today and even in its incomplete status it was an enjoyable experience. This course is going to be very popular when it is complete. keep up the good work guys.

We had an incident on 15 today. A lefty threw from the tee and hit his hand on the front left side tree on the tee. This tree either needs to be cut or the tee needs to be placed in a different location. It is a safety hazard. Love the course, just don't want to see friends hands mangled. It really is a safety issue. I am nervous when anyone tees off from there, but lefty's have a tree right where there arm is going. It's a recipe for disaster. KAZ over and out.

15 hasn't had much work on it yet. Just some minor clearing with loppers. The tee hasn't been installed yet, so you can stand wherever you like for now. I will keep your suggestion in mind when installing the tee box.

Playable. Still some ice on a few tee areas. Still need to put in tees on 4-18. Just moved tee area for 6 and 7. I think they will play better now. Still have to do some more clearing but you will see what I'm going for .

There's some homemade signs up and some arrows on trees. First hole is a hard left. People seem to miss that.
