Ever have trouble establishing a putting practice regimen?
For me, I've always wanted to create a putting game that would measure my progress, the way normal golf scores do. I know that for me, if I can get a measurement out of it, in the form of a score, it's way more meaningful.
So I finally came up with one that works for me. I ain't got a name for it yet, because I've never had to refer to it. I usually just tell my wife, "I'm gonna go putt."
Anyway:
The game takes about 20 minutes. I use six putters. (five to throw, one just as a marker and as a bonus "ace" disc*) I've designated nine tee spots in the yard, each in the 20' - 30' range I guess, and I play it twice for 18 total holes. (or once for 9, obviously)
You simply throw five, one at a time. [Ya gotta place all of them on the ground, can't throw them in quick succession.]
If you hit: zero for five: triple bogey one out of 5: double bogey two/5: bogey three/5: par four outta five: birdie all five: also a birdie - but sink a sixth putt & it's a 1* (that rule is because aces are rare in real life)
What I like about it, is that generally my score in this game is remarkably similar to my range of scoring in the actual game of disc golf ... also it makes each practice putt matter.
