When you are measuring up to 30 cm (11.8 or so inches) for your stance, do you measure from the front or back edge of the marker? I always understood it as, if you mark your disc with a mini you measure from the back edge (edge furthest from the basket) of the mini. However, if you decide to use your thrown disc, the measurement is from the front edge (edge closest to the basker) of the disc.
If you measure from the back edge of the thrown disc you can actually take up to 20 or so inches, which I think is incorrect.
thanks

Re: another stance question
It's back edge of whatever you declare is your marker whether placing a mini or using the thrown disc. Yes, you can get a bonus of 21-30cm farther back by using your thrown disc. That was intentional from a strategy standpoint when Mark Ellis introduced this new marking approach at the 1999 Rochester Worlds as one of the speed-of-play rules.

Re: another stance question
Thanks Chuck. Now I feel bad about calling a foot fault at league the other night. It was more of a after the fact foot fault since the player was just playing a casual round along with our group. Turned out to be a great putt over a branch from about 30 or so.
