Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
I was fortunate enough to demo a couple of these this past Friday.
The three things I can say about this disc is:
Fast
Long
Boomstick.
Welcome Vibram, to the 500' plus world of distance.

Re: Vibram HIGH SPEED LONG RANGE DRIVER
I threw white and green ones.
600'????
We are going to need you to pee in a cup to test for roids bud
The disc goes far, quickly.
Also, it does not blow apart when ripped into a stonewall as Steve and Tom demonstrated the other day
Just wait and see for yourself.

173-173g.
We just got a sexy LACE tester at 'Maple Hill.
Can't wait to take it out for some bombola training in the morning.
It's gonna be a long range driver many players throw effectively. You heard it here first.

Re: Vibram HIGH SPEED LONG RANGE DRIVER
some say it's a beat in destroyer
i feel more like its a new katana- champ not pro
it can definitely handle a big arm and it's fast
i'm not 100% sure i like the feel of the rubber/plastic/space-age whatever
its a max sized rim and always seems to be coming out of my hand before i want it to...
but that's just me
it's definitely legit
and a lot of folks will be throwing it in 2013-

All Things Disc Golf did a nice review of it here: http://allthingsdiscgolf.com/post/35608 ... -disc-golf
And they are running a contest where you could win one: http://allthingsdiscgolf.com/
---------
I can throw it about 400' (compared to my 300' Trak) and I now have a distance driver in my arsenal. Trust me, you don't want to go against me in the Team Challenges! :Lace Face:

Someone told me that since we had not posted any durability tests of our drivers that the drivers are probably not very durable. Here is the X-Link Lace holding up.

Re: Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
I had several people throw this disc today.
One dude gets a boss out there well over 400', no problem. He mashed the LACE and thought it was going to be a great driver.
The next dude throws 250'-300' and threw it nice and flat. He got it out there all of 300' and then some.
Another guy threw it right after the last dude. He's got 300' locked down all day. He threw it real flat and it flew really nice. Flat with a lil' tip and good overall distance.
The last guy throws about 200-225' in his second year of playing. It was a bit too stable for him as he prefers his trusty Pro Leopards, like his home course Professional told him to use.
I don't think the LACE will be for everyone but should certainly be a good long range, high speed driver for a wide variety of ability levels.
Coming to a shop near you on BLACK FRIDAY......or so I'm told

Re: Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
I would think so.
You have the arm to get the built in benefits of this disc.
Feels dead money in the hand.
I have one you can try in the X Link material (not the firm material)
173 grams of fast speed with surprising glide and control.
I am dropping 2 destroyers out of my arsenal for the LACE.
It's fun watching people throw it and seeing the expression on their faces.
Finally BLACK FRIDAY will be extra cool for disc golfers.

Re: Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
So I took a brand new Lace out at Buff today and threw some throws on flat ground.
The disc glides better than most. Like a teebird.
The thing that shocked me was: 1. how fast it was and 2. How far an eleven year old kid was bombing it.
I had to see what our future NEFA phenom could do with it and he was smashing it well over three hundred feet. Very controlled flight as well.
This disc is going to potentially be even better than I was anticipating.
Come and get one while you are purchasing a Christmas tree and a wreath at Maple Hill this weekend.
BooM!!!!!!

Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
I have to come forward at this time. I have been holding back all judgment and praise til the appropriate time, now. I tested this disc a couple months ago and well, I liked it. I gave it a good review. I took a week or two off from disc (not on purpose but due to life). When I played again, I didn't forget about the lace but I still reached for my "go to" disc (Z nuke or Champ Katana) but the Vibram Lace was always there asking to be thrown. I threw it every now and then. It took a little while but I am throwing the Lace now for the majority of my long distance drives. On Hole 14 at Pyramids I stepped up with the Lace in hand and let it go, my jaw dropped. I literally crushed it as far as anything else I have thrown and could argue it threw further with less effort. The glide on this disc is what really gets me. I can throw this disc straight with a long flight. On Hole 3 at pyramids I threw it and it and I released early to the left of the fairway. If you know Pyramids hole 3 you know you can see the basket through this lane. Well I didn't expect the Lace to maintain the straight flight but it did until it hit the tree just before the basket coming to rest under the basket. Not my intended lane but the flight just showed me how much glide there is. Ill keep throwing this disc. I will keep my Z Nuke and Champ Katana but not sure for how long.
The photo shows the lane for hole 3 that I was talking about. Right over the top of the basket you can see it.

Wish I was playing disc golf instead of posting here...

Re: Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
After speaking with the International Sales Manager for Vibram Disc Golf all about the new Lace driver, I came to a realization.
This disc, so far, is soooo true flying through the woods, it may end up replacing my beloved 11x Cal mold Eagles that I have relied on forever.
The jury is still out on this possibility, but it could happen.
Leopards
TeeBirds
Lace's
Destroyers.
That is one sexy lineup of drivers. ( and NO the eagles will never be for sale ).
Two slow drivers and two fast drivers. Possibly the slowest (leopard) driver I've ever thrown along with the fastest (Lace) driver I've ever thrown.
We'll see.......

Re: Vibram LACE New high speed long range driver
threw one today, just once.
it was pretty nice. had a lot of flash on the parting line, my only complaint. very grippy in 35 degree temps.
seemed to have a ton of glide for a Vibram disc. also seemed a little less stable than i thought it would be, I got just a touch of turn out of it... which i like in a max distance disc.
even with only one throw, i can see it has a ton of potential. might try one out.
