New course - "Woods at Beauty Hill" in Barnstead,

Post by Blaze Konefal »

Come and join us for our opening day- Sat June 3. The 18 baskets were put in just before the deluge. We are about 15 miles northeast of Concord, NH, just off Route 28. See our website for directions, course map and some initial pictures. Hope you can come and we can talk shop!
woodsatbeautyhill.com We plan on being open to the general public on Fri,Sat,Sun from 1 pm to 7 pm. Special memberships can come play anytime. Regular non-member admission is $5. If you're in the area before June 3, give me a call at 603-568-6749. I'll probably be out in the woods working on the fairways and t's. I would love to get some expert feedback on the course.

does hole 3 play back down 2's fairway? from going through the virtual tour that's the way it looked to me, since the tee of 3 appeared to be a reverse angle of the image of 2's basket between the two trees and the stone wall there.

pics look nice, and despite a couple of open field shots near the end (hard to call how they play seeing only pics) seems to be a challenging course where you have to watch how your disc lands. Seems like elevation up, down, and sideways is all over! :)

Hole 2 uses one side of the field, hole 3 uses the other. An errant throw from 2 to the right and an errant throw from 3 to the right could overlap, but since you guys are soo great, not to worry! Thanks for looking at the pictures. I hope to get new ones out there soon.

NH Disc Golf is growing

Hi Blaze, Hi Lisa,
I must say that it was a pleasure playing the Woods at Beauty Hill course last Sunday. We were very impressed with the diversity, the beauty, and the challenging fareways you folks have created. What a beautiful piece of property! Quite a change from the last time I was there. It was very evident that a lot of work has been done. You folks are on your way to having a must play course. I love hole one and the holes with those old trees on them. Look forward to the next time we can make it there!
Keep up the good work!

Blaze, Lisa,

Driving home through Barnstead last summer, I saw your Frisbee Golf sign, hung a U-Turn and found your place with the hula hoops. We spoke on email and the phone a few times and then I fell out of touch. I JUST saw this page and am PSYCHED to come back and see the course. Congratulations and Hallalujah for a course within an hour of Concord. I will be by soon!

I got a chance to play the newest course in New Hampshire today!!! I met Lisa (the owner of the course) today she was nice enough to let me and my buddy eric come out and preview the course. We had a great time, the course is beautiful, Lisa is a great host who is looking for in put from other disc golfers about the course so after you play let her know what you think. There is alot of elevation change through out the course on almost every hole. The grass was long today but Lisa was hard at work on getting the course ready for the grand opening next Saturday. I took a couple of pics today to show some of what were working with. So come check the course out it is definetly worth the drive.

Thank you for your kind words and for posting the pictures. I love this place, and I think the woods and fields are just beautiful. Thank you for taking and posting the pictures...I'd like to put some on our web site.
I love disc golf because it gets people into the woods...there's always something new to see and hear there. I love the open space...something very comforting about seeing far...
Maybe we could have an evening event...like we talked about...The stars on the hay field are magnificent on a summer night.
You had some great ideas Nick. Thanks for your support.

We had 7 hardy souls play the course! Needless to say they got wet wet wet! But they they all had fun. On Sun we had 7 or 8 players, 2 from the day before. Everyone said they really like the varied holes and terrain! Hope you can get down soon!

I have played two rounds at Farm at Beauty Hill. Folks should check it out. It is set on a gorgeous old New England Farm, with a good variety of fairways through open fields and tight woods. Great balance of short, long, doglegs, straight, up, down, tight woods, open field bombs. Hole 12 is the killer – a slightly right hand long TIGHT drive, with a 90degree turn, then another straight drive to the pin. Only a perfect first long drive will yield a 3. For a brand new course it offers a lot, 18 Instep baskets, good design, good challenge, and a beautiful setting. They already have a nice score card, 3 tee locations on most holes, well marked tee signage with diagram maps, and some very nice platform tees on the slopes.

The owners and designers (Lisa, Blaze, and Adam) are brand new to disc golf and seem very open and excited about it. They are still working to finish everything, but they are close. Their attitude is to offer a challenging course balanced with environmental sensitivity, and as such, will likely have a focus and goal of nature conservation. They have invested a lot in the course, and they want to expand their effort to include a pro shop, full moon golf, and tournaments, which hopefully will eventually include NEFA Points events.

This one will be great if people come out and support it. It could evolve into a great new course over time, and it definitely offers a legitimate new New Hampshire location.

Another reason to rush out there: Tex Long holds the course record (long blue tees) at 64 (from last week when they opened), which is just crying out to be broken.

While they are not open every day ($5/day pay-to-play), you can buy a membership which gives you every-day access. Their website is new and growing: http://woodsatbeautyhill.com/

Check it out; Blaze, Lisa, and Adam want feedback and are excited to meet new folks!

I was able to play twice this weekend at Beauty Hill. Blaze and Lisa are doing a great job and I can see there is more on the way including a possible pro-shop.

It is a very diverse course as others have stated and #12 will be a challenge for most. #4 is tough as well. I love the Big Pine shot, Wing It and the little dipper (#7).

Do wear those gortex boots. NH is under about an inch of water where ever you stand and Beauty Hill is no exception :D

For those who play on weedays or mornings, you may want to check out their membership options of wich there is two.

VERY FRIENDLY owners!
