1. Play at least 1,000 hours of poker at Foxwoods, unless online comes back! (Only played 426 hours last year ) 2. At least maintain hourly win rate. 3. Study poker ~1 hour a day. 4. Get back down to my fighting weight of 175. (Currently 198 #FatKid) 5. Refocus on disc golf and actually try to learn how to putt!
1. DISCIPLINE, and finally get to a practice routine, technique, and putter.midrange discs, that will help me to be much more consistent...instead of wingin' my multitude of discs randomly! 2. See #1. 3. Happy New Year!

Here's a tip for anyone trying to quit, DON'T do it cold turkey, wean yourself off of it, if you don't know the proper technique for weaning, Google it.

My friend did quit cold turkey when he was very sick with bad colds. He couldn't breathe and smoke at the same time (duh!). So, that's how he did it. He was smoke-free for more than 7 years and happy with it. I quit mine via 8 weeks of patches more than 8 years ago. One less harmful stuff to my body out of many other harmful stuff!!
TIPS: use any lollipops of your choices to help curb your oral habits. Works for me!! My favorite choice would be Tootsie Pop.
ugh!!! not talking about cigs! thank goodness my body didnt know how to get addicted to that. Im talking about the ganja. Im sure there is a differance between quiting cigs vs maryJ
Whether its mental or physical. The best way to quit something is to wean yourself off of it. Yes, there are people who quit cold turkey and are successful. Quitting cold turkey makes you more susceptible to relapsing though.
Some are different than others though. Some may smoke marijuana and never developed any kind of mental addiction. When I socially smoked cigarettes in the Marines, I never got addicted. Therefore not doing it had no effect on me.
All I know is, there are tons of people that want to quit that have a hard time quitting. And I was 1 of those people. To my surprise when I announced that I stopped smoking on Facebook, I was contacted by 4 different golfers seeking help to quit. They wanted to successfully quit like I did and they were desperate for help.
If anyone is tired of feeling like crap because of your addiction, regardless of what you're addicted to. Pm me, we'll talk about it, you have my word that I will not disclose anything we talk about. I want to help.
i quit cigs 10 yrs ago, cold turkey. For me it was the best way to do it. I get that people are different though so certainly a valid point. When i quit i didnt hang out with anyone that smoked for the first month or two. That helped a ton. I see alot of people fail simply bc they quit and go to the bar/hang out with friends that all smoke cigs. So impossible to quit cold turkey if you dont isolate yourself from it.
2013 goals/resolutions: Cut my weight to 180pds (so i gotta lose 37).
No more getting angry in front of my wife or kids. This man's gotta control his emotions, or he'll lose all the goodwill he builds up. And the equation sucks: 50 great things get wiped out by one bad performance. Can't take for granted these relationships......

Hey cow, I noticed there's a spanking new casino in Oxford, ME on the way to Sunday River. We can set up a weekend where we drop Todd off to work on his 1000 hours, and we can head to the mountain and gamble with the moguls and the trees

Stop being content with my job and send out more resumes. Play 18 new courses to reach 60. Complete P90X/P90X+ Hybrid with no skip days. Get a practice basket and actually practice putting. Hit 500' in field practice consistently. Play a round of exclusively backhand rollers (and beer). Get my brother to fly from the west coast and stay at CW for a week, play all area courses, and show him that So-Cal disc golf is for pansies.

I would love to hit up Sunday river for sure. These old legs of mine don't exactly relish the thought of turning a board around moguls n trees but I'd love to hit the slopes!
