New Free 9 Holer Opening In Wilton NH

Post by Mark Holt »

I have roughed in 9 holes with baskets and tee markers around the local High School with 9 more coming ASAP. My SVDG crew has been loyal and kick ass, but i am possibly moving away to the mid-west. I have loyal leaders to take over but they could use a few more wonder grunts. :) This course is and will always be free, but it needs a Devens like crew to bring it to full potential. (props Luke and the Devens loyals) The first 9 holes are challenging and fun and i hope to see some NEFA folk at my benifit dedication tourney early May. (actual date to follow). If you want to join the 'Crew' and help get the course primed up for Grand opening please PM me. Thanks!

True Story, Course Builders Kick @ss! Thanks for your hard work Mark.
I'd be a lot better if those trees didn't get in the way.

That is profoundly Awesome Glenn,
You may have unknowingly just come up with the motto for the "mountain Man Course series" that is currently being developed!

Well, it is still very much in the "developmental phase" but the essence is that it would be a series of tournaments played on some of the brand new more rugged courses, (think massive elevation changes and classic wooded fairways).

Courses being discussed are John Britton's Wapack Wilderness in New Ipswich MA, Otter Brook State Park in Keene NH, which a handfull of us are currently building, and maybe granite gorge next to Otter Brook if things work out there. Essentially we are looking to promote and introduce the sport to areas that have been disc free. There are a ton of possibilites that this thing could go in, I'm more of a worker, constuction-foreman type, I let the smart guys do all the heavy thinking. Hopefully more details to come, thanks for asking.
