Pinnacle League

Post by James_Beaulieu »

Beginning on April 16th, 2013 we will be teeing off at 6:00pm every Tuesday for 18 holes of random-draw doubles. All skill levels are encouraged to come out. There is a $4 entry fee, with $3 going to the winning team and a $1 CTP competition. There is also an optional $1 ace pot which rolls over week to week. Contact Dan at djwalsh9@gmail.com for additional information.

FYI, there's a LEAGUES sub-forum under the NEW HAMPSHIRE forum. Also, there's an AREA LEAGUES page on NEFA.COM - send a request (to Jeff?) with info to get added to that page.

Just going to copy/paste what I sent out to the email list this morning:

Hey Everyone,
I know I said that my previous update was going to be the last scheduling change for Tuesday Doubles, but I think everyone will agree that I come bearing good news today. In order to work the Mt. Sunapee course into our rotation, we've now decided to alternate between Pinnacle and Sunapee every other week. First and foremost, I want to thank Mark Crawford and the rest of the Mt. Sunapee team for having us. These guys have put lots of time and money into building this course, and it shows. Disc golf season passes are just $99, I'd encourage all of you to pick one up and support the growth of disc golf in our area.
Now to logistics. Our nights at Pinnacle will remain as they are, with people (hopefully) arriving 5-10 min before the 6:00 tee-off. Sunapee nights will have a slightly accelerated timetable, as the lift won't be spinning by the time we arrive. On these days, lets meet in the parking lot NO LATER THAN 5:45. This gives us time to get ourselves up to the first tee by 6:00.
Below is a schedule for the next month, so that there is no confusion. I am working on developing a central hub for all of this doubles league info (anyone good at web design?), but in the meantime I will be posting things discussed in our emails to the gmdgc and nefa forums.

5/21 = Sunapee
5/28 = Pinnacle
6/4 = Sunapee
6/11 = Pinnacle
6/18 = Sunapee
6/25 = Pinnacle

Thanks and see you on the course,
Dan

I've made a little website for our Tuesday league. The site has a schedule, ace pot counter, record of past winners, etc. Any important announcements/changes will be found here as well as sent out to the email list. I will no longer be using the gmdgc and nefa forums to post this information because its more work for me and I feel like it gets lost in the mix with everything else happening on those sites. If you have a good idea for something that should be added to the site, let me know. I'm planning on sprucing it up a bit, once i find some motivation.

See you all on Tuesday at Mount Sunapee!

Agreed. NH disc golf was sort of a black hole and because Rt. 89 links Sunapee, Pinnacle, and to an extent TOTH/BeautyHill to the fine people and courses of VT, to me it feels more natural to piggy back NH onto GMDGC.

However with Keene getting some love and Manchester literally popping up out of nowhere it seems, NHDG may be taking off in the not to distant future.

I remember attending a Manch workday this past fall. Literally no one else showed! This past weekend I discover the course has been open for a few weeks and there are probably 30-40 people out there, maybe 5 of which I recognized. NH is finally getting some love.
4/20/11, Ace #2, Devens - Hole 18. You just read that.
