What if is the prank is it's a real disc but, they released it today to mess with us going, "Is it a real disc? Is it not a real disc?" At least until you read about the gel polymer gives it away.
Looks like a "symmetrical" Epic ! Of course can't be legal if the wing's 3.3cm. Unless they're going back on their word / don't know what they've actually put in the rule book / wrote for the specifications . Where's Vegan when you need him?
it'd be sweet to see them make something called the "Non-PDGA-Approved" disc- just to see if adding a chunk of millimeters to the rim and making it a few grams above max weight made a difference. i'm betting they'd sell. that rim cracked me up though- and i also thought "THAT'S A ROUND EPIC RIM!"
So just as a comparison, I scaled the picture to be the same diameter as a Boss(just happened to have one hanging in my office) and held it up to the monitor......... the rim is a FULL 1/4" wider!! Also if you hold a ruler up to the picture, the rim is slightly "Epic'd"........ it's about an 1/8" wider on the bottom than the top.
There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the article now stating that it was their April Fool's joke and thanking PDGA for their assistance. They went above and beyond if you ask me, evening adding the disc to the PDGA approved list and posting on the front of the PDGA website yesterday.
