Re: Qualifying in MA
No need to ask to be tracked outside of your home area anymore.
We are tracking everyone in all areas in which they can qualify.
So Daniel Marcus (NH), you will be tracked in NH/VT, as well as CT/RI and MA regions.

Re: Qualifying in MA
but MA still can't elsewhere?
just sux..all the MA courses I can play anytime..just a lil drive away for most of them...most of the appeal of the series was the travel and cool things along the way...
and yeah the REG season is cool..but if I am gonna then travel paqy the money woould be nice to maybe if I shot well to go to finals..again half the appeal was the rotating finals...from state to state
so now I gotta pay 50 bucks plus travel expenses to compete in the same old same old w/i my state events...just not worth it to me..now 50 and travel expenses to go somewhere new is ok by me..more justifiable
esp since CT is in a better geographic location then my area of MA..in regards to hey if I drive north besides the new keene/bratt 9 holers..I am talking pinnacle land to compete...I wanna go west..noho land or discap...for me to go to eastern ma it is pain in arse and just not fun..CT smack in the middle of many meccavilles...
just seems a small vocal minority pushed this through trying to "fix" things when in all reality they had invested interest to cater to themselves or own interest..rather the future of the ORG
booooooring from an MA residents POV IMO

Re: Qualifying in MA
I have been talking to Ira about this because he is a NEFA/GMDGC member and he travels from the Boston area to almost all of our 12 GMPSeries events. Many of our GMPSeries events are also NEFA events and Ira as a Mass resident will not get tracked for these for Finals. I am confident we can put our creative minds together and come up with a different formula for next year that is fair for all the states and also encourages travel and playing in other states.

Wow, silly me doesn't come on the forums for half a year and now a ton has changed about NEFA/NEDGC finals/championships.
Chris, please let me know what comes from your talks with Ira for next season. Though I live in MA, I can basically walk to the NH border. 50% of my league play is in NH, and 80% of my tourney play this year (played and pre-registered) is VT/NH. It's a preference thing for me. I thoroughly enjoy that area.
I had no, and I MEAN NO, idea that the finals/championships structure has changed to regional and via selected qualifiers. It may be part of my being off the forum for a bit, but also I haven't heard a peep from anyone in my two routine leagues, both of which involve many NEFA players.
However, if I were to qualify in any region next year, it will almost definitely be NH/VT due to my time spent playing there, so please let me know if something comes from discussions of qualifying out of region because that's almost guaranteed to be my case.
