Another course in Manchester

Post by Mike Grzywinski »

I know that there has been talk about putting a course on MCC property, but has there been any consideration or thought to a 9-hole course at Center Springs Park? The park has good elevation changes and plenty of tree cover that could support a nice little course. Just my two cents...

Nice land but not a nice place. I don't think the town would go for it and I'm sure baskets would get stolen.

I see your point about it not being a nice area and the high risk of vandalism or basket theft. I hoped that a DG community presence on the course might keep some of that destructive behavior in check. While in the car I find myself looking a tracts of land thinking "that'd make a nice DG course"...my wife calls me crazy.

Don't we all

If we did put another course in manchester only option would be
Case Mt.- would be a fun elevation course could be done right off the paths.
Ferguson- has amazing land and could be one of the best courses around but no parking
Mcc- already trying

That probably be it for manchester

MCC is very much on hold for now. I seem to make better headway with the powers that be during the summer when people are not as busy. Money is real tight in the community college system right now, and the school recently scrapped their entire intercollegiate sports program. Perhaps a couple of years before it happens. I like the Case mountain idea!

Actually Center Springs is quite viable. There is MORE than enough room for 18. There's more than meets the eye with this little downtown gem. I disagree w/Alto about the baskets also.
I think I also brought up years ago the Porter/Howard Resevoir complex. This place could fit Pyramids AND Maple Hill within its borders....... Beautiful , huge , peice of land. Jay Bayer and I have a TON of great memories of this place from before it was open to the public :drunken:  8-) :cyclopsani: :drunken:

Do it Frank , you can jump over the fire , see all of us are........... (oh did i forget to mention the lake on the other side hehehehehehehehehe)
