Lost Disc GPS?

Post by Erik Zarazinski »

I'm going to give this a try on a disc, maybe it will work, maybe not...

How would you attach it to the disc?

From the FAQ section:

"How does Tile stick to surfaces?"
"Each Tile comes with a double-sided adhesive that can go on the back of your Tile. This can stick to virtually all surfaces."

The only thing I wish it included was information on it's weight... can't imagine it being too heavy though.

They're askin $25 for one right now...so I don't know why you'd spend almost twice the cost of a disc just so you don't lose it, unless it was a collector disc I guess...

But I'm sure the price will drop at some point..

I'm still going to try one, just to see.. I like gadgets.

You could turn on mobile hotspot if you lose a disc.

That's fine, at least it would be cooler than a disc beeper.

Thought of a better use..

Hide one in your Disc Bag.. If some douche is going to steal it on you, you can track it down and knock on their door for it...

I know in the Grip EQ bag, there's plenty of Velcro spots you could open and slide one of these into...

That in itself would be worth a purchase.

I should use this on some of my friends, in case they drink too much and can't find their way.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

Price is down under $20 now on preorders.

You could also place them inside the pole of the baskets to catch basket thieves.

Just found this on kickstarter this morning:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1015015457/chipolo-bluetooth-item-finder-for-iphone-and-andro?ref=home_popular

Since it's based off the bluetooth on your phone instead of WiFi, it would make much more sense for using as a disc locating device. Tempted to order one myself.
