Keeper league opinion question. If you had Doug Martin and AJ Green as possible keepers would you go with them again this year and sacrifice your first 2 picks in the draft?

What number pick would you have otherwise?

edit: Good point right below. Keeper drafts must be hard to strategize for.

Yes, since others will be keeping players that would otherwise be available.

Doug Martin no brainer.

AJ depends on what pick and who else has been kept.

Dougy Martin for sure.

Kid is a beast.

RB's will run deep this year.

This is the year Trent Richardson is unleashed on football. Grab him if you can. Most rankings have him 8-12th pick range but id take him in the top 5 pics. Last year as a rookie he played with broken ribs and Cleveland o-line had all kinds of issues. With a healthy and sic looking offensive line, T-rich is going to go nuts this year. Hopefully he stays healthy.

Last year he helped beast me into the playoffs. That kid is no joke at all.

If Jamaal Charles can stay healthy he's gonna do damage as well. He had some explosive games last season that I don't think he'll duplicate, but I expect him to be a consistent back with many touches.

trying to fill a NEFA league from last season ...

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com ... 2/settings

should be able to view the available teams:

Upstanding Midgets (Solt)
RG Three's Company (Kovo)
Gettin Grunk (Gordon)
Spoiler Alert (JT)

Obviously last year's owners have the right of first refusal, but since they have not responded, I'll give them until the end of the weekend. PM with your team preference, and I'll fill the league on a first-come, first-served basis sometime Sunday night or Monday night.

Hoping for a better draft in my keeper league draft tomorrow night (keeping D Martin and AJ Green). I think I've firmly secured last place in my first draft

Had pick 2 in one of my drafts last night, this is what I ended up with.

QB Matt Ryan
RB Doug Martin
RB Lamar Miller
RB/WR Ahmad Bradshaw
WR Dez
WR Pierre Garcon
TE Jimmy Graham
D/st Browns D
K Randy Bullock

Daryl Richardson
Torrey Smith
Andre Brown
Kenny Britt
Isaiah Pead
Josh Gordon
Michael Floyd

D/st and kicker are the obvious weak spots but I stream those every week so it's not really an issue.
Hoping one of Miller/richardson/bradshaw can pan out, kinda weak at RB2....

Had a 12 team draft on CBS on Sunday night, pretty shallow though with just 5 bench slots. Picked 7th, 2 RB and 3 WR

Cutler
Foster, Matthews, Ball, Bradashaw, Tate
Dex, Demaryius, Cobb, Gordon, Hopkins
Casey
Pats
Nugent

Had Kaepernick, Wilson, and Eli plucked between my 7th and 8th round picks, so I punted QB until the 11th with Cutler.

Yesterday I made deal with a close friend: He traded me Kaepernick and Wayne for Cobb and Ball. He needed RB depth, I needed a reliable QB. Cobb and Wayne are effectively the same, and with Bryant and Thomas as my top two, the drop off from Wayne to Cobb wasn't huge.

Way too many teams took backup TEs, so I was left with the dregs. But I expect several decent backups to be dropped once the season starts and more viable RB and WR targets appear.

People are idiots if they are drafting backup TEs in a mostly unknown territory with that little bench depth. Good for you for not biting and getting better overall players. Not sure the dropoff from Cobb to Wayne won't be larger than you think though. I didn't get Cobb in my first draft but am hoping to snag him in at least one of my 3 leagues. My guess is that he scores 12+ TDs this year receiving, gets another rushing, and 1-2 more on returns.

It's a standard CBS league, so those kick-off TDs won't count. Although I love Cobb as well, and seriously considered just riding with Cutler. But the expected positive gain in starting Kaepernick at QB instead of Cutler (about 3-4 points per game) outweighed the drop off from Cobb to Wayne (about a point per game).

The only guy who should have drafted a backup TE is the guy who drafted Gronk, and he did by taking Cameron.

I think Wayne will have a better season than Cobb.
