Some folks are going to get together at a local Photo Studio run by Bob Johnson here in Keene. Bob's an absolutely DG junkie since starting playing this Summer. Hoping to figure out fund raising ideas, and see what kind of commitment we can get from folks on either cutting the back 9, or putting in tee boxes. Agenda is TBD at this point.
We will start around 7. Hope to see some folks out there. 180 Emerald Street, Keene.
Some of the photos he took of the course.

Re: Keene Disc Golf Meeting Dec 11th
I really would urge that the tees went in last...ya just never know with ACOE at times...tees are perma and lots of money and work...lots trust me cough tully lol
they change as well...more then I wanna remember...IMO tees/true signage should not be done till last
gain rob that crew he needs to destroy back 9's face...let the dust settle...and over next winter discuss signs/tees
18 hole courses gain more steam and players from abroad/local
serious suggestion as I may not be able to attend this meeting
Thanks KDGC you are killing it up there!!! kabooom

in regards to an event
the property is semi closed from labor day to mem day
so that means if an event is gonna be run...in peak season...it needs to be 9 holes played 2x...cuz personally I see no reason to shut the entire property down for a DG event...
so if field holes are used I would suggest to avoid early conflictions to make it off season....
both are viable though...I would suggest NEFA points regardless of event though NH players need events badly...I would also connect with GMDGC as they would allow it I bet being so close to SVT...so that is a thought...(edit and this needs to be connected with the DAM series..it was always suppose to be and when I first told Dave of this..he was excited and LOL'ed that we would be sending Dave to NH..I told him watch out I heard there was a DAM by Canada...)
with Granite Gorge close and as bar etc etc...and just 9 holes..although I am not currently sure of the dealy with them or their future plans regarding Dg..9&9 may be viable as well
regardless of any of those items..I urge anyone to not just call rangers and set an event up!!!!...please work closely with the KDGC and help them get to know about ins and outs of an event so they can further that in the future
right now put all events aside...if anyone truly wants to actually help..get your butts up der and lend a hand to what is/was a massive project in 100% woods with very mature trees
in due time this will be a megaplex of DG hosting awesomness...for now the focus should truly be on fundraising, back nine, and gaining local/abroad support in all those efforts
events are cool...people showing to work days is much mo cooler

We already have permission to open the gates up and put in field holes. This was about fundraising efforts and thats what this event is going to be about. I havent decided 100% on NEFA yet as that is another expense, but it is pending. As far as the Dam series is concerned, I have nothing to do with that and dont know what it entails. I saw a need and offered my services. Plain and simple.

Re: Keene Disc Golf Meeting Dec 11th
fair enough...
Nefa would be cool...small fees..yes fundraising but the more people will make up for it IMO...but keep in mind only 1 nefa event a year...I would encourage the nefa/dam series event to happen at same time for MAX field draw..
yes there is a need for a fundraising event...yes the field holes can get ya to 18 holes easily....yes an event would be awesome
we just gotta tread lightly the first go around new ACOE property new rules..new peoples ballz to tickle...lets just make sure we massage them nicely
there is/was a plan for events up there...this year was just not feasible....but rest assured people have not forgotten about an event at OB..and also have plans to make it happen this year....just wanna get everyone on same page here...and most of all KDGC needs to play an intimate role in all this

Re: Keene Disc Golf Meeting Dec 11th
The ACOE has taken a serious wait a see policy where it comes to the back 9, not to mention we really only have a crew of I dunno (two of us) that do any work on a consitent basis. We are hoping to break ground for the back 9 in the spring, but we will be under some pretty close watch and some tickling will be needed to get the ACOE completely onboard.
As far as tees are concerned the ACOE has offered up some fill (as much as we need) to level out the tees. They seem much more comfortable with use using the fill to make a few of the tees safer. I understand that tees are often moved, but if we focus on some of the tees that we are more sure won't change anytime soon (1, 5, 7 and 9) we should be able to get those started sooner than later. Our thinking at the moment is to make the first 9 really nice, and then, HOPEFULLY the ACOE will allow us to start cutting the back.
As far as a tournament is concerned it's going to be tough during the summer months. The park is used VERY heavily during the summer, so much of the open space is used. You'll be surprised how many people use the park during peak season. If we want to do a major tournament it would need to be before Memorial, and/or after Labor day. They have given us permission to use the open spaces during the off season on Sundays (for league) so there's no reason why they wouldn't let us use it for a tournament.
We are hoping to discuss a Vibram birdie bash, and an Ace race type deal (with the Alt tee's there are birdies and Ace's to be had) with some of the club members on Dec 11th. We will also bring up a NEFA event as well.

fill and grading is awesome plan.....as with any project the PTB hae the final say..I think your plan of attac..ummm tickling is the right play here...
with the short tees you virtually have 18 of sorts already...so yeah just make that nice and bright and wow em...once a full season goes by you will hopefully gain more work support from DG'ers and trust from ACOE..it was a lil shocking to them I bet to actually see what truly is involved in creating a nice DG course
and ace race/bash is great idea..and you guys have what not many have a layout that is cool as is for that format
well anyways awesome year up there..the few nuts who have busted arse up there are in my book legends!!!!
