I know that a bunch of these types of bags have come out in the past couple years and I haven't been paying attention.

I'm aware of the obvious ones, grip prodiscus revolution taj...

What else am I missing? Please and thank you

Ergo2 looks cool but I love my mahal

Seeing the pictures of the Ergo 2 makes me regret pre ordering the Ergo 1. All of my complaints from the first bag, seem to be resolved by the new one. Oh well.

I think Mike's motive might be to get an interested party so he can unload the VooDoo and get a Taj. Just a guess ...

next, imagine an american flag (albeit manufactured in some other country)
with a whole bunch of bright stars and stripes
the same stars and stripes you said the pledge of alegence to when you were 7 years old
just imagine if SOMEONE could make that flag into a backpack style bag

Being the large and impressive man that I am, backpack style bags, grip rev etc., made me feel like a forth grader forced to reuse his 3rd grade backpack. That's why I went with the taj. Now that ive played a few rounds with it I must say im extremely impressed. It feels so good, carry's way more than I need, and im blown away by the craftsmanship!
highly recommend this bag. Also made in the usa instead of cheaped out in china is a big plus.

i love my simian. 200$, dont have to buy, and tote around some chit-less stool, its made in america and warrantied for life. its made by one guy, chris anderson?, but ordering 12 weeks out and counting.

for those that like the taj, there is a company called, no excuses disc golf, that makes bags in a very similar layout. however, these are totally customizable. colors, and patterns, to hidden pockets, to putter pockets that fit 5, if thats what youre into.

Love my Simian (2nd gen) bag that I got in 2010 for $10.00 (yes, 10 bucks!!). How?? I won the raffle for it.

But the zippers has worn out already, that's alright. Its expected.

The 3rd gen Simian seems be a better improvement so far.

I wanted to get a spinal tap as soon as Voodoo announced they were making a backpack based on how much i liked the mojo I was upgrading from. They were instantly impossible to find so I pulled the trigger on a Mahal.

I am incredibly glad I was impatient. The mahal is a tank and I can't picture wanting another bag for a long while. It sits perfectly on my back thanks the the adjustable yoke and can expand to carry way more [bleep] than I will ever need. If i want to pack light the big side compartments collapse down really easily. the only thing I think it is missing is some kind of putter area at the top of the bag. a lifetime warranty on a bag from a company that has been around as long as Mystery Ranch actually means something. A lifetime warranty from a company that may not be able to stay afloat for 5 years isn't really all that valuable.

the only thing that has made my eye wander since buying the mahal has been the prodiscus bags. A friend of mine just bought one of the smaller ones and it is really well made as far as i can tell.

YUP Like Chris said, the Mahal was well worth the wait. I have 16 discs in with side pockets collapsed. Its like not having a bag on. It's seriously that comfortable. You custom fit it to yourself. Not tighten or loosen straps, literally custom fit, its all about the yoke baby........ Can you say waterproof zippers ? I can........ Can you say hands free umbrella ? I can........
I have tried on Grips, revo back pack, I think there was one more I tried on.......... They all seemed o.k. Then after fitting my mahal, I realize they were o.k. I am a big fan of freaking awesome though, and that's what the mahal is......
SERIOUSLY , I can't say enough good about this bag, oh did I mention I will never have to by a bag again ?

I have had a Mahal since 2011 and i love it. I like how it is so versitle, it really can carry like a smaller bag if you shrink the sides up a little. However it can also carry about 60 beers if needed. I recently wore out one of the shoulder straps and broke a few of the clips, i took a few photos and sent an email. Boom getting a new yolk and new clips no questions asked. The guy was impressed at how hard i worked the bag. Sweet!

The mahal is a world-class backpack that just so happens to be very, very good at carrying discs. Seems hard to find anyone suffering from buyers remorse when it comes to the mahal..

Two years ago when grips were mass released there was a "debate" about what the best bag was.

Now there is no debate.

There really was never a debate.
Just consumers consuming inferior over priced goods.
After all, we're American, duh!!!

The Grip bag is a nice option, but its no Golf Mahal.
No bag even has a small fraction of the ingenuity the Mystery Ranch bags have built into them.

I've seen limited photos of the new/newer Prodigy BP bags...are they available for the masses yet? I see the "TEAM" using them only...so far!

My sad, Steve Walker, is interested in getting a backpack bag. Now, he doesn't carry many discs or much else. The hope is for a more comfortable bag. He also doesn't want to spend too much. Any suggestions? Since he is 71, the built in seat option is nice, I'm just concerned that it would add too much weight and/or size.

Rob, the Simian is actually pretty darn light when its empty. It is on the bulky side though and would seem very empty with only a few discs in it.

The seat is nice though b/c its padded and can support a surprising amount of weight.

We've got one Mystery Ranch bag left and then the first run of the bags will be gone...

It's a size large, so it will fit an unusually tall person absolutely perfect. The recommended height for this size bag is 6'4" or taller.

Be part of history, literally, and get the last of the first run MaHill's. They are soooo good
