Best Hole in New England
Thought I would throw this out there. Just wanted to see your answer.
So the best hole being........
Mine would have to be Wickham park, hole # 7 and hole A.
What are your favorite hole?
Please refrain yourself from saying someone's butt hole!

Re: Best Hole in New England
We are really fortunate to have a lot of mind blowing holes here in New England, as far as a favorite it really depends on the day. Current favorites in no particular order are.
Otter Brook State Park #3
Tully #1
Hunt's Mean 18 #18
Beauty Hill #3
Flatrock #17
I plan to hit a lot of courses I haven't played yet this summer, I'm ashamed to say I've never played Maple Hill, that's gotta change!

I'd be a lot better if those trees didn't get in the way.

#9 at Hunter
#16 at Joralemon
#18 at Rindge
#6 at FDR ?(the long downhill that ends at the lake)
There's many more but I can't remember the numbers offhand.
Played 20 years in Michigan and only remember a couple epic holes. The terrain here just blows my mind every time I play.

Glad you like that one Matt. For an even better mind blowing dg experience at Burgess, may I suggest hole 8, my personal favorite
As for my favorite hole in New England, its at North Calais..I think hole 4?, can't remember the hole # for sure, but it's really long, very difficult and just beautiful.
close runner ups are Maple Hill 11, Borderland 17 & Rindge 18
Truth be told, there's so much variety in NE disc golf, it's hard to answer this question fairly

Re: Best Hole in New England
Hole #13 at Flat Rock in Athol, MA.
- Great throwing lane options, structures, raised green, rock wall and staircase. Always potential to be a decent swing hole.
Hole #7 at Webster Fish and Game in Webster, MA
- Fun hole. Really great turtleback green that rewards a great throw. Jail left. Hard line straight. Roll always if you bail out right, but if you get pin high you are putting right back uphill and into the meat of the green. Really like this one.
There is a lot I'm not including, but thought I'd mention these two for now.

I'm with Whitey. Hodges # 8 may be the best* (the OP's original wording...and there can only be 1 "best") hole I've ever played ever (well over 200 courses world-wide so far).

Re: Best Hole in New England
To Ira Divoll and Dan Doyle - Peak course #11? Are you sure you don't mean the sick par 4 #10 or the beastly 1200' #12? I guess Dan may not be that familiar with the layout (it's been a while since he designed it).
It seems that there are two types of people posting here: those who include North Calais #4 on their short list and those who haven't played North Calais.
It may be the perfect disc golf hole. Long crush of a drive followed by several line options with a fairway sloping to O.B. that makes you think about both how your disc will fly and land, then the risk/reward of an island green. The benefit of a par-5 is that it lets you work out multiple-shot strategy and a good score will require both planning and execution.
Is Hodges #8 the one that plays over the spillway to the basket back 30' into the woods? It's a fun shot and the full 18 hole course is by far my favorite of the ACOE dam courses, but I just can't give it "best" status.
If anyone is interested I worked out a little wintertime exercise last year to create a dream course by choosing a favorite for each hole number.
