A place where you can buy, sell, and trade disc golf equipment. Sell, buy, and trade at your own risk.

Disc Golf Fly Market

Post by Tim Carter »

As the snow thaws (that is gonna happen sometime soon right?) more and more peeps will be looking for discs to huk for the season.

Does anyone have a interest in getting together at a course for a disc swap of sorts?

My idea would be that people could sell/trade/buy used discs from each other.

Could help people who want to try a new mold, or are looking for backups for the season.

Could also help me get the ridiculous number of molds i own but don't throw out of my basement.

The "fly mart" concept has been adopted at major events, but it's usually primarily for vendors to sell their discs.

I am thinking more about individuals getting together to swap buy and sell. Hence "fly market"

We could have the fly market somewhere from 10-2 and then have a big random dubs or something.

If there is interest I will contact some of the notable disc fiends around and see if we can get something going. I am thinking sometime in April.

Holla back.

I'm down for that.

Where/Which place/course that it should happen?

I'm thinking Barre course because it has open fields and people can test discs before/after buying/trading.

Just a thought.

I think Titan has tried to start up Route 2 Trade Show...maybe talk to him and go from there?

The parking lot at Webster seems perfect for this. Great idea. I have some old ones I would swap.

My idea is really focused on the used disc swap/buy/sell as opposed to the vendor/ trade show. But that idea is cool too, and maybe we could do both together. Webster might make sense. I could see a bunch of vendors set up behind the building kinda near hole 18. Four!

I was thinking of doing a disc-swap thing before league at Devens sometime this year, but I'm pretty lazy, so I'll go to yours instead. It is a great idea though. On Saturday I worked a great trade with Nevius out of what he had in his trunk, with a planned event it could be cool.

I was actually wondering if Devens would be the best spot to do this... Considering the huge numbers of people you guys pull on a weekly basis.

I may not be able to do a weekday league thing, but weekends? or maybe you do one up there and we do one down this way? Cross promote?
