The local TV station which serves several communities in the area is now airing Disc Golf Live video magazine. If you want to show support for the show and encourage more broadcasts, drop them a note.
Others who have community TV in town can contact their stations and see what it takes to add a program to the schedule. Copies of DGL are provided at no charge to broadcasting stations.
Best regards,
Joe

Holden, MA:
I recently stumbled upon the Lemon Lake Master's lead card video, from whatever year that was. I'm glad to see this on in my town. The community access channel doesn't provide a schedule of shows so I'll have to call them to figure out the scheduled time each week/month. I caught it around 6pm on 2 different occasions.
Thanks Joe, and thanks to whoever got the show put on in my town.

Re: DG on TV in Montague, MA
Glad you caught the show, Jeff. Here's the Holden website: http://www.hctv11.com/
DGL seems to be playing on both of their stations. No disc golfer to thank for this one. Thanks in this case go to the programming folks at the station who downloaded DGL from a PEG TV media sharing site: http://www.pegmedia.org/index.php?q=msv ... 119/detail
Disc golfers can also download the shows from the site and burn a DVD to submit to their local station. Lots of stations out there, esp. in the New England area. Most will accept shows on DVD from local residents, sometimes there's a little training or paperwork but not much. I'm also happy to mail program DVDs to folks/stations if downloading is not an option.
The Holden station has seven or so episodes on hand ranging from recent to pretty old, but telling them apart on the schedule is not possible, they're all just "disc golf."
Best regards,
Joe

Re: DG on TV in Montague, MA
this is funny actually
the local AOTV in my area serving tully, flatrock, now RF&G and basically a boom in DG won't air the videos...
but now 2 towns over a place with NO courses is airing it
also we are poised to push 1 town away in Wendell MA for a course basically course will be 2-5 miles from montague center
not sure if montague covers turners falls where the population zone is for that lil area till ya reach Greenfield MA where there is a big pop zone
Greenfield has stonewalled a course on the public side...
and I have not been able to round troops up from that area...to lead a cause
as my personal goal is to get a course in that area one day
do you no who the person(s) responsible for getting this in Montague?
as if they are interested in this they may be able to help in regards to an actual course
as always thanks Joe

Re: DG on TV in Montague, MA
Holden just downloaded the latest show, the Open Women from Worlds 2013. That should show up soon.
Titan, what was the obstacle over at your station? Their website was a little vague about what it takes to get on the schedule. There is some non-local programming on there, so they don't have a fully "local only" mandate. Or at least not one they follow. Mostly muni meetings and such, otherwise.

Re: DG on TV in Montague, MA
been awhile mainly poor communication to actually get it on there
also our local cable provider timewarner no longer supports the station at least on my TV basic cable for life for me...
maybe you must get digital not sure will try to find that out..
since I dont get it any longer guess part of the reason is I have not continued the quest
also do you know of the person(s) responsible in Montague or did it just occur naturally(meaning someone internally in the station just happened to add it)
I really should go take the class at the station to use equipment and do some kinda program on DG in my greater area..prob would help my DG causes as well...maybe this late fall I will
thanks again

Re: DG on TV in Montague, MA
As noted above, one of the folks in charge of the station in Montague downloaded the shows from a community TV file sharing website, pegmedia.org. Unless that person is a disc golfer, I don't think any of us had anything to do with it, just a station looking for variety and free programming.
Keep in contact with your station when you can, they probably offer use of their equipment to do local coverage etc. That would be a great way to get your foot in their door, so to speak.
Enjoy the long w/e.
