Pease, if anyone finds my red Sidewinder on hole 20, could you return it to me. Leaving it at Pyramids is an option, or get it to one of the locals,ie.Boliver, Walsh,Cyr, Ballard, Brown, I looked for it for twenty minutes on Sunday before giving up. The crazy part is, it was a good drive, or so I thought. I would be very appreciative, and would compensate with cold beverage.

2002 Classic Roc

Post by Ken Hannan »

Lost my favorite approach disc in the small pond at Buffumville last week,
a 2002 Classic Roc, champion plastic I think, that was real special.
The stamp had a gold pennant on it containing "2002", and referenced Worlds or something like that and a concentric circle or 2. Pretty much the same disc, if not exactly the same, as the 2002 CR with the Worlds Doubles & 2 dogs/wolves stamp on it. The disc I lost was 172 gms.

If anyone has a lead on where I might find a replacement, I'd be *very* grateful!

Thanks,
Ken

I was hoping some good soul found a bright yellow Coyote here sometime within the past week or so. I think I left it on the ground as I went to my next shot. Should have Hoey and a phone number on the back. Much thanks,

We scoff at people who have just one virtually new David Hoey Coyote. We have TWO! Just found one way across the river on Hole 4, near the stone wall, where...someone stole it and dropped it when they were running away...or something like that.

icebowl

Post by tushamajig13 »

Does anyone know how often they send divers intot he river just before the dam? lost a pro orc and a champ firebird down there at the icebowl and i would love to get them back. both were perfectly seasoned to my throwing and the pro orc is discontinued. if they dont actually send divers i mite just go in there myself after them, or wait till they get spit out the other side of the dam into the gorge and then go hunt them down.

let me know if it looks like ill ever get these back

the orc is yellow and has my name and number on the back
the firebird has no hotstamp, is unmarked on the bottom, but the distinguished trait is the awful dye job ( i tried to do it myself) it is an orange champion disc (used to be yellow) with a terrible dye job

buff diving...

Post by Karl Molitoris »

All,
I (and my bro) scuba'd Buff last year once...pulled out 250 or so discs and brought them up to Pyramids. We'd be willing to do this again (and will) BUT the weather (and the water) has to be just a wee warmer for us not to turn into scubacicles. Between setting up the gear, getting it down to the pond, actually diving (we did 16 and 19), getting the discs to shore, CLEANING the discs (damn, they were slimy), bringing everything back up to the car and driving them to Pyramids took about 5 hours. I do it just for fun (not worrying about the cost of the air (yes, scuba air DOES cost money) and the time spent), but it's not something I can do all the time (besides, I now spend more time in NJ at my job than I do in CT / MA). I will again dive when the water gets a little warmer. And understand, the we found discs in water over 20 feet deep (so it's not the easiest thing to just surface dive...although I know many, many have been brought back up that way).

Does anyone know a "Ben Champagne"? I found a purple sidewinder of his on the other side of the road off of hole #2 at Buff during the Ice Bowl. I haven't had a chance to post this all week (business trip to Kansas City), but would appreciate any info. Since I'm at work right now, I don't recall if there was a number on the disc or not. If anyone who knows him will be at Cranbury on Sat., I'll pass the disc on then...

Great, I'll be @ buff both days this weekend. Is this disc yellow/greenish one, champion, non-Barry Shultz model ? If so that's interesting you found it on 10, as I lost that in the water's edge on 14.

Thanks,

It's probably one of those kids that was here diving for discs at the end of last summer. I think Ken actually knows some of them. This is a parental issue. They need to be made to understand that we were very appreciative that day the kids were diving and gave them a bunch of money. But this is not their new business.

I'd advise a combination of all things. Ken can you help? I will e-mail Tim Russel about the situation. He would CERTAINLY want to know if those kids were on the ice last week. I'm sure their parents would as well.

JZ I recommend you arrange for the kid to come to the course this Sunday,..unless you want to do it before that. We need to get his info,.. phone and address.

After my phone call the other day I tried to see if I could save some discs for others so they don't get the same call.

discs of people i know:
1.Laforce/mark D - grey element
2.mike murphy - red quarter k
3.Andy Murray - yellow classic roc
4.ken hannan - white sun dyed valkrye

discs of people i don't know:
5.Jim Pica - white cheetah
6.ellierah@aol.com - red champ teebird
7.chris chamberlain - blue cyclone
8.David James - blue XL
9.D. Desmaris - orange Dragon (any relation to eric desmaris?)
10.kelly lakatos - purple #2 flyer
11. brian cunningham - blue coyote

3 no name discs:
12. was one hole 18 middle of the fairway a few weeks ago after some snow
13. was in the water bout 15 feet off of 16
14. was in the water on hole 1/14

People I know - I will hold onto your disc till iIsee you at buff. People I don't know - will get dropped off at pyramids next time I go, if anyone knows any of them let me know. No-names-- name the disc, color, plastic etc. to claim, otherwise they become loaner discs for new players.

I don't personally know the young kids who were retrieving discs from the small pond last summer, but they said they knew my wife from school...

The kids were probably like 10 years old, and I kinda doubt that they're the ones calling JZ. I offered them cash if they found my 2002 CE Classic Roc, which might still be in said pond, mostly because it was the only one I had then, and they're hard to find!

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

JZ, tell those kids they will have to pay you 5 bucks for giving you back the disc. If there is a problem with this, settle it in a nice timely fashion.
