The Cape Cod Disc Golf Club is actively pursuing a new dg course in the town of Sandwich. We've received the blessing of the Board of Selectmen and we'll soon be meeting next week with the Rec Director, Asst Town Hall Manager and Town Planner to finalize a location. The target property is the Sandwich Hollows Golf course land (land surrounding the golf course), which includes an old driving range and 80 acres of upland with some pretty extreme elevation changes (think Pyramids and Devens)...not your typical Cape Cod topography. If anyone remembers the old 4Cs course, this area lies along the same terminal moraine as that course, so its a very unique area in terms of landscape.
The club will be meeting tomorrow night to prep for the meeting with town officials and to discuss fundraising ideas. Stay tuned!
It's really exciting to see all these new course proposals popping up in SE Mass....Wompatuck, Middleboro and established courses in Attleboro and Franklin. Let's not forget Nantucket and the Vineyahd as well.
