Does this mean that we can sign up now? I know, I know, just kidding.

I'm not down there that often, but my in-laws are in North Kingston, so this is very exciting!

And I'll be down there with loppers and bow-saw in hand for as many workdays as it takes to reach that goal. I love the ten that are in already and I can't wait to have a full 18 so close by.

Just got confirmation from the parks department that we are a go. PDGA and NEFA sanctioning will happen soon and all other details will get ironed out. Look for pre-reg to get going sometime in June.

We're going to have a Friday night league for everyone to come and check out the course. Hopefully people will be staying local for the event and really take in the area. Maybe some glow golf Friday night? I don't know if I will be able to pull that off, but I'll find out!

I was down at the course yesterday and it has come a long way from the piles of brush and bull-briar that used to be there. Amazing the work that has gone into the course so far. That said, we need to get more holes finished before the tournament! There will be work days every Sunday from 9-1, from now until August 9th. Work that will be performed involves basic labor of moving cut branches and trees off the fairway so the brush hog mower can move in and clear it out.

The work actually goes really quickly once the trees are moved out of the way. I'm confident that with a few people at every work day, the holes will be cut and playable in short order. To try and get more people out to the work day, I'm offering up FREE hole sponsorship for the tournament to anyone that completes a full work day from 9-1 (or whenever the machine breaks down that day). I know what you are thinking, WOW, a free hole sponsorship! At a cost of $10, your 5 hours of labor comes out to...$2/hour. Good thing you aren't being paid.

The plan is to set up three temporary holes for the tournament which will take the player around the athletic fields and back to tourney central. However, the two signature holes of the course will be in play for the tournament. Come on down to Southern RI to help make the course and get a preview for tourney day. Let me know if you have any questions and want to help out.

Was down at the work day yesterday. We had 5 of us there for a few solid hours of work in 85+ degree heat and humidity. We got a lot done in that amount of time making new Hole #10 and it's island green fairly playable. All it needs is a basket. A few more work days like that and we will have met our updated goal to have 15 holes playable for tourney day.

I'll get the pre-reg list updated tonight, but there are 24 in for the first annual SKDGO.

If you are a player from the Pro divisions, you can buy into the Quahog Cup for $10. If you are a player from the Am divisions, you can buy into the Cherrystone Cup for $10. The winner being determined by the lowest weekend total for the SKDGO and the Grey Sail Open.

Just an update that the Am's player pack so far is an event custom stamped Innova disc. Choice includes Star Wraith or Metal Flake Roc3 with our event stamp provided by EMPTY (aka Manny Trujillio). Innova also provided a bunch of stuff that we will be holding a CTP contest during lunch and after awards to raise money for the course. Prizes include a Innova Discatcher Sport, Starter disc golf bag, tourney discs, shirts, and more!

Tournament shirts will be provided for the AM players as well. I will add an option to the reg page to collect sizes. For people that already registered, you will be getting a message from me soon to get your size.

Only a few weeks away from the first tournament at the new course! Work day this Sunday. If you come to the work day, you get a free hole sponsorship!

Just registered. Really excited for the event (my first tourney). Wasn't sure which division to sign up for so I just did rec. I avg. ~ 4 over on the current 10 hole layout.

Did some work on the island Wednesday night with my brush trimmer. Still some work to do. Should be able to make it out a couple more Sundays before the event (9th & 23rd).

Only a few weeks away! Been down to the course and played the island green, Hole 10. A little bit of a pucker factor. Anything wet off the drive will go to the drop zone on the tee side of the water, leaving approx 100 ft approach over the water to the pin.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but these guys at this course need someone to haul three chainstar baskets from Maple Hill to South Kingstown.

Is there anyone who wants to take on this task and help out Meow and Jimmy B?

Send me a PM and I'll arrange to load them into your vehicle all nice-nice 8-)

The Tournament is coming, lets get it done.

No. There are 10 baskets in the ground currently (Holes 1-9 and 18). Three baskets are purchased and ready for pickup from Maple Hill (see above). There will be three temp holes used for the event. Holes 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17 will be ready to go for the event with temporary pins on these holes.

Course work is happening and the final holes are being cleaned up for play. It will still be a bit rough around the edges, but will be a great time regardless. Only a couple weeks away from the first event!
