I put together this list of the discs used by current/former world champions:
World Champions' Disc Golf Discs The Roc seems to be the almost univesal choice for a midrange. Anyone have ideas for a better one, or is the Roc really the best?

I have probably 10-15 Rocs, in various stages of beat in awesomeness. Either in the bag or the backup bin.
Probably another 20 or so wall hangers.
Flat Tops for life !!

Bart,
Technically ANY disc that YOU "like" (the flight fits your mind's eye, goes where you envision it should, etc.) will "work for you". As to why a lot of (but not all) W.C.s throw / threw Rocs probably has to do with that the Roc was one of the first mid-ranges made, is somewhat neutral (meaning the player provides the 'angles' to maneuver it around), and early success bred later success (meaning players gravitate towards discs used by good players). They really don't (at that time) realize "it's the arrow, not the Indian"...and any disc practiced with enough will 'work'. The Roc IS a good disc, but there are a lot of equal discs (mids) out there too! You'll find that it's a lot about "feel"; does the disc feel good in the hand. Some people like little rims (opposed to big), flat tops (opposed to domey), shallow rims (opposed to deep), etc. Spend enough time throwing ANY disc and you'll probably get good at it (and IT will be for you a "good disc").

Is there a reason you only selected world champions who are Innova sponsored?
