Speed Round... League?

Post by David Hoey »

I quit smoking.

Very coincidentally... 100 days ago today.

After many years of avoiding cardiovascular exercising, it is something I've been embracing and enjoying lately.

Something I've been wanting to do for a while now but haven't been able to do... is a speed round.

So........

I am going to do a speed round on Maple Reds soon... Most likely, a saturday... probably 4/25, as 4/18 will probably still be wet.

As with most everything else, the more the merrier.

If anybody wants to join, awesome! If not, also awesome.

We'll have to start pretty early to avoid potential backups, so this is basically a feeler post, to see if anyone might be interested.

If there's interest, then this is the spot to hash out more details.

Bueller?

Speed Round > Srs Round > Funsy Round = A pretty decent day.

Here's the link to the rules for Speed Golf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_golf

Here's a link to stopwatches for under $5. Of course, there's apps for that as well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_st?fst=as%3Aoff&bbn=698866011&qid=1429055100&rh=n%3A3375251%2Cn%3A!3375301%2Cn%3A10971181011%2Cn%3A3407731%2Cn%3A5393952011%2Cn%3A698866011%2Cp_36%3A1253555011&sort=price-asc-rank

I was actually really sick with some kind of monster respiratory illness.
This came after chain smoking at a cold and rainy team challenge.

I couldn't even inhale the drag... So in a way, I was kind of lucky to be so sick, and the first week or so was surprisingly easy.
They have some neat apps that help you track your progress...
So far, it's been 107 days and I've saved $710, and not smoked roughly 1400 cigarettes.

And I do still plan on doing this speed round.

It will likely be pretty ugly, but whatever.

Just not this weekend...

I'll be sure to bump this thread and give people a few days notice if anyone is on the fence.
