Pound Disc Golf OCTOTHORPE

Post by Dave Jackson »

Has anyone else used the Octothorpe Backpack Bag from Pound Disc Golf?

I got one last fall and fell in love with it.
Lightest bag, killer rain fly and an even better fit than my Mystery Ranch Golf Mahal. I love my Mahal and got one of these Octothorpe bags in an effort to preserve my Mahal.
Glad I did.
The Octothorpe is more comfortable and lighter.

They are not cheap, but no bag worth it's weight is cheap. Same lifetime warranty as the Mahal.

The biggest con I've seen from using the Mahal and switching to the Octothorpe is the ability to carry 28-30 discs.
I'd say the Octothorpe carries 16-18 in the main compartment. 3-4 putters in the putter compartment and 3-4 putters/mids in the large side compartment.
That's a total between 20-25 comfortably.

What do people think...?

I think carrying 28-30 discs is obscene.

2nd this...... the bag is gonna need helium bladders to offset that kind of weight.

I'm surprised you think your Mahal needs preservation. I've beat mine up for the past 3 years and there isn't a scratch on it. Maybe yours gets more use.

I just really like my MaHill. Thing is bomb proof.
Buying the Octothorpe was just a move to not use my Mahal as my primary bag DG bag. I could never get another one of those and I'm using it as my primary day pack for hiking more this year.

The Octo are around $280 plus shipping.
The rain fly's are like $45

I'm starting to see more of these on people's backs.

Carrying 28-30 discs is fun FYI. It's nice throwing five of the same disc at a shot when practicing. I'm just glad to be over that as I'm turning 40. Lol.
